Flying piece of art causes museum chaos in Switzerland

Mon Aug 11, 3:26 PM ET

GENEVA (AFP) - A giant inflatable dog turd by American artist Paul McCarthy blew away from an exhibition in the garden of a Swiss museum, bringing down a power line and breaking a greenhouse window before it landed again, the museum said Monday.

The art work, titled "Complex S(expletive..)", is the size of a house. The wind carried it 200 metres (yards) from the Paul Klee Centre in Berne before it fell back to Earth in the grounds of a children's home, said museum director Juri Steiner.

The inflatable turd broke the window at the children's home when it blew away on the night of July 31, Steiner said. The art work has a safety system which normally makes it deflate when there is a storm, but this did not work when it blew away.

Steiner said McCarthy had not yet been contacted and the museum was not sure if the piece would be put back on display.

Yes, giant inflatable dog turds represent art at its highest point.

If a man can be called an artist for coming up with a gigantic dog turd, then I don't see why I can't be called an artist too by drawing stick figures. :oldrazz:

Artistic crap.

If you draw a stick figure, dropping a turd while being carried away by the giant turd baloon, you'd be famous.

I know they say art is subjective, but seriously. These days being qualified as an artist has less to do with talent, and more to do with having a degree from some trendy art school.

Sorry, I think making a giant baloon in the shape of dog poo requires tallent.

I'm guessing alot of poor unsuspecting Swiss people were saying all variations of the word "Crap" in Swiss upon seeing this thing floating free of its restraints.

I don't know whats weirder this or my cousin showing me a video on youtube last night that was uploaded two years ago about a bunch of people being interviewed thinking they saw a Leprechaun & some not believing that there was a Leprechaun but they wanted the pot of gold either way :wow:
