New transformers interview with Michael bay and animatic descriptions

I'm having a hard time believing this film could possibly be anything above diaper drippings. I've never understood the massive amount of love for this show. I watched it a few times, it was ok. I certainly never thought it was anything other than excuses to change trucks into giant robots. It was essentially Power Rangers with robots. Meh, I don't get it.

You sound
old, that's why.

If you were a kid and a boy back then, then how can you not like giant robots that transform? Dude, my girlfriend was into transformers! Only a cynical person in their teens in the mid 80s wouldn't get it.

i really dont understand the massive appeal of tranformers either. sure the show is good, but the only transformers i watched was beast wars and it was damn good, the stories were mature enough that i liked it. but making it into a live action film with the trucks seem kinda of ******ed.

Some want it for the eye candy, some want it for the mythos behind the toys. Both reasons are valid. That infamous Citreon commercial was what gave most people an inkling that it was doable.

I was around 12-13 when the show came on. I was the target audience. Can you explain your love for this show without using the words "trucks" or "robots"? It wasn't so much a show as an extended toy commercial. I know kids don't require much to be entertained but COME ON!

It's possible Michael Bay will come up with something interesting, but so far I'm looking forward to this film about as much as the Powder Puffs Girls film, which I apparently also "didn't get".

it actully turns out that ad was a test run to see if it was do-able by the studio making the film. they pitched the idea to citreon and then the ad was made

The Rock and Armageddon had story behind the action

i dug the rock, i can admit that, that one was fun. but after that, his films started slowly having the stories chipped away at, and becoming more and more thin, until he got to the point where i believe he now just thinks of a bunch of action sequences, then tells the writers to some how work a story around it....which, doesnt work (at least, for his films it doesnt).

I dont ever want to turn on the internet and read 'transformers is just powerrangers' ever again!!!!!!!!!!!

Compared to power rangers, this is shakespearian. In one episode, a boy's brain was transfered to a transformer robot for a while and he became evil and tried to kill his own father. Yeah I know. Its main purpose was to sell toys, but for some reason, the show was actually good.

i dont want to get into a huge debate over this, so all i'll say is: michael bay makes movies that are all flashy action eye candy, with no substance. now, im cool with action movies, im cool with popcorn flicks, im cool with watching movies for the sole purpose to be entertained and nothing more....but thats not an excuse for a movie to have little to no story to hold up the 2 hour action sequences that bay has a tendancy to produce. i cant imagine transformers is gonna end up being anything different. now, if your a michael bay fan, if you enjoy a bunch of car chases and things blowing up with no story or purpose behind it...all right, thats cool, thats your opinion....i dont understand it, but whatever....

But there is a story behind his movies? The rock deals with two characters who are polor opposite yet must work together to save the world. Nicholas Cage's character is this dude who's not an action star but then rises to the occasional while Sean Connery is. You also have Ed Harris's character of the general who's fed up with the country. And there are other characters, I don't get how you can say there's no story? Transformers is what it is, it's the same as the Rock and Bad Boys 2, a decent concept made to promote Robot Fighting and selling action figures, it just sounds to me you don't understand the concept of Transformers.

Opps, I can't speak for Armageddon cuz I haven't seen it in a long time ubt I think you're wrong. Bad Boys 2 has a story to it and some decent characters the thing is we're going for the action. I like teh struggle between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence characters, I like how one is the hero and the other's the family man. I like exploring that more when you see what Martin Lawrence's character sister gets involved with WIll Smith. There's a lot of really great stuff to it. I don't know the thing is if you don't like action movies that's cool but you can't be complaining about Bad Boys 2 when it's king of the crop, at least for American Cinema. I also absolutely love the visual style to Micheal Bay's films.

If you're trying to prove Bay is a good filmmaker, it's probably best to just pretend Bad Boys II doesn't exist.

I don't get why you wouldn't like Bad Boys 2, it's a frickin Action Film, what do you expect?

Edit: I just read your post comparing it to power rangers... This argument is not going anywhere

You own a secret list of reviewers that are higher up than them?

My confusion was more based on the fact that you expect me or movies or anyone to take their opinions as worth a damn, there' just guys paid for a view that they can articulate in an entertaining way

Probably for the same reasons 110 of the nations top reviewers hated it:

See this is what I love about people... When critics don't like movies they don't like, they say there opinion don't matter, when they do they bring them up. But none the less I value critics opinions I love to read reviews but it doesn't change my opinion. I'm not telling you to like Bad Boys 2. I'm just saying I like him, I could really give a **** about what you like. Also I think my point is pretty clear that Bay fits transformers, hell you even said it yourself so I don't know what your arguing about really.

I agree. I'm just saying that when I don't like a film, it's usually for the same reasons critics put in their reviews. I didn't feel like relaying them all, so I just linked to the tomatometer.

Bad Boys 2 was the ultimate guy flick. True, guy flicks can have intelligence in them as well, but that was just plain visceral video game **** that a lot of us enjoy.

Who's arguing? Here are the points I've made so far:

1) I don't see the attraction to Transformers

2) Bad Boys 2 was a piece of crap.

You dissagree. Oh well.

Well i tend to watch a movie first before reading reviews, unlike my buddy Movies over there i have no favourite critics,i see a movie and then maybe read some reviews out of curiosity and sometiems i agree other times i think there' wrong it all varies,i tend to take action movies more as what they are then most critics though

You brought in other critics that's what I thought was your intention. Either way though you don't even like TF so why does it matter to you? Or are you just here to state your opinion on Bay?
