I'm liking Gotham Underground so far. Art's pretty good (90's reminiscent) and the whole Suicide Squad kidnapping and recruiting villains

It's a Countdown tie-in, but it's not marketed that way. If you don't follow CD or know the backstory to Gotham Underground, you'll be left in the dark.

And stop *****ing on No Man's Land. :o

Story is kind of slow for me but I'm still picking it up. I like the art and I'm waiting for the issue when Batman comes in. I know we've seen Matches Malone but I want to see the Dark Knight!

And I loved Greg Rucka's novel of No Man's Land.

I've enjoyed Gotham Underground thus far for the most part. The storyline with the villains is entertaining if anything else. I'm sure I'll continue to pick it up.

    they will.

GU is supposed to use every major Batman character at one point or another.

I have the first three issues. It's pretty good. Takes a bit of research for me-because I refuse to read "Countdown"

yeah, that's where the internet comes in handy. I can get the gist of what DC is ****ing up with Countdown-and fill in the holes myself.

I bought the first 4 issues of it today.

I'm not reading all of Countdown, so I'll have to fill in the blanks myself. I need something else to read besides Batman and Detective, as I'm boycotting Spider-Man, and this looks really good.

He most likely won't. One of the points of Gotham Underground is that the major villains of Gotham (the Joker, Bane, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Man-Bat, Catwoman, Hugo Strange, the Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, and Two-Face) are gone and others are filling in the vaccum created.

For DC I recommend Wonder Woman, despite her horrible relaunch, Gail Simone has been really saving this book, her All New Atom is a fun read too, but she's leaving the book soon and Gail is pretty much the only reason why this book hasn't been cancelled. Geoff Johns has been doing great stuff with Green Lantern, Booster Gold, and Action Comics. Green Lantern Corps is great too. You want some Batman comics, both Batman and Detective, along with Batman and the Outsiders are rather enjoyable. Other good books are Checkmate and the Brave and the Bold.

For Marvel I recommend the Amazing Spider-Man, despite One More Day's absolute suckage, Brand New Day has been really good. Brubaker's books: Daredevil, Captain America, the Immortal Iron Fist, and Uncanny X-Men are good. Punisher: War Journal is a rather interesting and enjoyable take on the character. Other good books are Thor, the Incredible Hercules, Iron Man, and Avengers: The Initiative.

Easily my favourite title in my DC lineup.

Yes, there's a lot of similarities to No Man's Land. I just love the fact that its about Gotham as a town and puts the emphasis on the mobs and such. I wasnt too sure about this Tobias Whale character (never really read Superman and he seemed like a broke ass Kingpin) but damn his dialogue is on point and he's ruthless like a mother. [email protected] the dude with the F'ed up surgery almost being a tribute to Batman 89 with the Joker.

I hope we can see more of the actual Bat-team but so far its looking good and the storyline with Bruce caught up in Prison looks intrested. :wow: @ the fight between him and Zsaz.

He made a hilarious appearance in #5.

Looks like Bane is on to "Matches Malone"...i hope we get a brutal knock-down-drag-out fight between him and Bruce before this series is done...

Was that Bane thing a flashback, though?

I ask only because Bane got sent off the planet with the Suicide Squad in Salvation Run, so I don't think he's actually in Gotham anymore.

Indeed. He seems like the "leader" of Gotham's Rogues...
