I remember reading on moviehole that Goyer said he had the choice between doing two films. The Flash or Green Lantern and he chose the Scarlet Speedster...could the project he's doing INSTEAD of The Flash be the Emerald Knight?

Fingers Crossed. Then again he does have an affinity for Thor and Marvel is the Supehero Movie King right now. So, its probably the Asgardian.

Talking of forthcoming projects, you’re directing "The Flash"?
Yep, they’re going to announce the Flash tomorrow (in the trades), which is Friday. They look after Batman, Warner Bros, and they came to me and said ‘You did a great job on Batman, the next big one we want to get up and running is The Flash or Green Lantern – are you interested?’. I said I would love to do The Flash. I think there’s a lot of cinematic possibilities that nobodies ever done. I’m interested in really pushing it, and dealing with relativity, so near the end of the story he’s going to be like arriving before he left, and all sorts of weird and cute little stuff.

It seems that David Goyer has a lot of things on his plate for the next couple of years. He is being credited with "The Dark Knight", "Thor", "Captain America", and "Jumper" (just to name a few). We could speculate as to what his next project will be, but I don't think it will be Green Lantern anytime soon (I think it's more like TDK though).

seriously, enough of him!

I don't think that post should be left unanswered and it sounds like it's just you and a small number of others that that have had enough.

Well I guess I am part of this "small number of others" too.

I think it may be green lantern, I mean what other DC Universe Project could there be? I mean DC only has 5 top heroes and they're already attached to directors.

As long as he's only writing, i'd be fine with it.

I am with the small number. His writing is mediocre, and he seems unable to carry a sequel. Granted Blade was actually a well written film, but Batman Begins could have used an assisstant writer to shore up that script (I felt he had trouble handling the different aspects of Batman). I feel his writing is just average.

He's dedicated, and that's what gives him an edge. As far as raw pure talent, he's not A-list... but he is all we have, and we can depend on him to be there, so I tend to support him, but I haven't seen anything worth singing praises about...

I'd like him to be involved - but on a script level only...

Not even Blade is good.
The only good thing about him, is that he made a great revamp on the vampire slayer.
That´s it, that´s all he ever did that was any good.

Now, i wish him all the luck in the world, and hope he writes a masterpiece for his next work, but so far, he is a mediocre....at best.

I thought the same thing about Goyer doing Green Lantern. One thing about Goyer he respects history and he wouldn't have a Jack Black comedy! We might actually see Hal Jordan on screen, as Goyer was going to use Barry Allen and Wally West in The Flash.

As much as I would love to see a Green Lantern movie, is it not possible that his new project is actually the newly revived Wonder Woman?

Small numbers would pretty much make this whole forum. Goyer is a hack at best. The only time he's ever written anything good was when he had a co-writer (Batman Begins with Nolan and JLA/JSA: Vice and Virtue with Johns). Everything he's done solo is a joke. The Venom script, his Ghost Rider treatment, the entire Blade "franchise."

Seriously, Goyer sucks.

i think he's a decent storyteller but not such a great writer. maybe he's inexpensive. that's gotta be the thing with tim story right? why keep him for FF2ROTSS?

Goyer is great when working with a great director.
I like him.

If he is making a GL movie, its perfect for him. Blade wasn't great but it wasn't bad.
