LOL we need a release date first. The gameplay trailer for GTA V came out only two months before release.

The first trailer came out more than 1 year ago, if they reveal something next, it should include some gameplay footage, like how the third person perspective camera looks like, with the release date at the end of it.

Then few weeks before release, a deep dive/extensive gameplay videos.

They could still release in summer months, if competition from GTA VI in late 2025 to mid 2025 really concerns them.

I first read this as May of this year and was like wow that's crazy it's coming out soon. Then I reread it and went Oh...2026

It's not a total shock because Rockstar has literally done this with their last two games when they prematurely announced a release window.

And to add insult to injury, they're tentatively releasing it the day AFTER Memorial Day next year so you have to wait until after the long weekend to play it.

I'm assuming Sony had inside knowledge that GTA VI wasn't coming out this year when they announced Ghost of Yotei the other week.

Ugh! I just celebrated my birthday the other day, so i have to wait more than a year and see Doomsday first before this game comes out!

GTA: Grand Taking Ages!

At this point, it would be fitting it GTA 6 becomes a launch game for PS6!

Rockstar never disappoints, so I’ll gladly wait the extra time for them to finish the game which I’m positive will be a 10/10 experience. I’d prefer waiting then to have them release an unfinished product which I feel has become increasingly common amongst the gaming industry.

Its understandable to make sure that they are releasing the game in a very good state. The problem is people have been waiting for this for over ten years. A lot of us are 12 years older since the last one came out in 2013, and the gap between the older games, was 5 years maximum. And its really quite frustrating to realize that so much time has passed and we are still waiting, and we are going to have to wait for another year.

Also Rockstar promised everyone a 2025 release, which they failed to live up to it.

I hate the May release date because summer is pretty much starting. I tend not to play as much video games during summer because it's nice outside. I'd rather have the fall release date when it's colder and there's an excuse to be inside lol

That being said, I don't want them to push it back even further. It's been a LONG wait.

I don't mind about the delay at all, my thoughts on delays to games I'm interested in is always the same, a delay is much better than releasing something unfinished. We've seen how doing that in this day & age rapidly poisons the community immediately, turns off new players & in general does more damage to than postponing it's release.

Rockstar is in a position were they know this thing is going to break records & sell, but if they want it to have even half the longevity of GTA V did, they can't have it be a mess on release.
