Let's pretend for a moment that you get a call from the president saying that the world is under attack by "flying armored demons" and monsters who say that they are here to claim this world for Dakeseid. With the entire DC universe at your disposal, which heroes would you call to form the Justice League? My picks would be the original seven with Wally and John as Flash and GL, along with Hawkgirl and Green Arrow.

If we have all of the heroes, why not just pick... all of them?

If we're saying only seven, then I guess the original seven would do just fine. It wouldn't matter much who's filling the Flash or GL shoes, but as long as we have one of each, it's good.

1.Superman
2.Batman
3.Wonder Woman
4.The Flash
5.Martian Manhunter
6.Green Lantern
7.Hawkgirl

Hawkgirl without Hawkman seems fairly odd to me. I was introduced to the DCU through the JL cartoon series so I accepted it then. However, now that I've rewatched it a few times, I think she's kind of a weird choice to just throw into the mix.

If they want another female member, why not use Black Canary? It could be perfect if they are looking to integrate both the TV universe and the movie universe with Arrow and Flash coming along on the small screen. If they REALLY don't want to deal with GL anymore, they could insert Green Arrow to fill the "Green" title quota I suppose. Then include his girlfriend BC and we're in business.

But Hawkgirl can most certainly be a part of it in the future. Just not as a founding member without Hawkman.

1) Superman
2) Green Lantern (John Stewart)
3) Wonder Woman
4) Martian Manhunter
5) Flash (Wally)
6) Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
7) Green Lantern (Kyle Raynor)

You can never have too many Lanterns. Batman is completely useless.

If you can have all of the Lanterns, why not all of the Flashes?

People seem to have a crush on Wally for whatever reason but they fail to realize that even though he has the most raw power in terms of speed, he probably has the second least control (next to Bart maybe). Barry was the only one to figure out how to control his molecules completely so that things didn't explode when he goes through them. He's the source of the Speed Force and probably has the best moral compass of the bunch. Then you have Bart who essentially BECAME the Speed Force at one time. He's decently fast and has the goofy personality that everyone loved about Wally in JLU. And the rest of the speedsters in DC have things to love as well.

So if we're going to include multiple of the same role, why not include everyone who filled each role? Matter of fact, why not go back to my original point and throw in the entire DC Universe since we apparently can call on any character we want? :funny:

Picking the five most powerful... ignoring Supergirl--

Superman, Captain Atom, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter.

Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Dr. Fate, and Batman.

I'm old school, so I'm going with an iteration of the classic big 7.

Superman, the big gun,

Batman, the most dangerous human on Earth (as Superman calls him )

Wonder Woman, kicking ass !

Green Lantern doesn't matter if its Hal, John, Kyle or Guy,
got to have a Lantern there

Flash make way for the fastest man alive !
Barry or Wally, either one will do.

Martian Manhunter probably my least favourite character, as he's kind of a second
rate Superman, but his mind powers make up for that.

Aquaman seriously underrated !

I like Cyborg, but to me he's always a Titans member, but I'm thinking old school
teen Titans.

Superman
Martian Manhunter
Zatanna
Captain Atom
Power Girl
Cyborg
GL Kyle Rayner

Not all of these are necessarily my favorite characters, but this is my best guess at a most powerful 7-member team. If I got 10, I'd round this out with Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, and Metamorpho.

While the JL are at their most awesome (in terms of power and overall ass-kicking with the big 7 ) I really enjoyed Giffen's work in the 80's, he really breathed new life into the JL, and made it the most fun DC team book to read IMO.

The whole Martian Manhunter and Oreo thing was hilarious, as was Guy Gardner and all of his antics. And of course "Formerly known as the Justice League"

Those were good stories, and fun to revisit. Okay, that's not exactly the point of the thread, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

peace out super-fans !

Superman, Batman (Strategist), Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman-Hawkgirl, Captain Atom, Shazam, Zatanna and Aquaman.

The best lineup is the Justice league cartoon lineup plus aquaman. Although I'd say you could replace John for Hal and throw in Cyborg

Depends on what kind of story they are tellling and in which tone.

movie 1

Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
The Flash (Barry Allen)
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Cyborg (orgin)

movie 2

Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
The Flash ("dies")
Green Lantern (leaves to space after Flash's "death" is replaced by John Stewart)
Cyborg
Aquaman

movie 3
All previous members plus Martain Manhunter and cameos from Green Arrow, Black Canary, Firestorm, Hawkman, Hawkwoman and others. Cyborg leaves to start the Titans at the end.

Will this be new52 or pre-flashpoint?hopefully a mixed of both but more pre-flashpoint,and if hal is the first green lantern on the team, they better make him more serious, and more powerful then he was in the beginning in the new 52,you know the more true big gun.

By the way they weaken hal jordan in the beginning of the new52.

I guess they got mad because his movie failed,so i guess they made him weaker etc... and more of a funny man.

They should have went with john stewart or got a more serious actor to play hal and had a more serious story instead of trying to copy marvel.

This could explain it,of course he seems more closer to his original power levels in his own comic then the early new52 justice league comic.

Hal's power level in the Justice League arc has nothing to do with the Green Lantern film. Those arcs were written in March 2011, the reason he is a absent minded joker is because WB still thought the film was going to be a hit.

If they have Hal be a joker, and the films a hit, bonus. If it's not, well he's only just got the ring, and hasn't learned the massive responsibility it entails yet.

Interesting,oh and i edited/added another link above, dealing with another but related topic.
It was interesting read.

Superman (Cavill)
Batman (Affleck)
Wonder Woman (Gadot)
Green Lantern (Idris Elba as John Stewart)
Martian Manhunter (Benedict Cumberbatch)
The Flash (Gustin - yes I know)
Green Arrow (Amell)

Aquaman works better outside the league IMO.
