Green Knight

I mean I can't say I'm suprised considering its usually the type of films A24 distributes anyways, but that hasn't changed my excitement for it in the least.

Sometimes it's good to know what your getting into beforehand though and I wish more casual audiences atleast tried to do a bit more research if they are interested in films like this.

Yeah, I'm still excited about this. Wonder if there will be any walkouts during my screening.

I don’t mind a slow burn. Just as long as it’s Blade Runner 2049 slow and not Only God Forgives slow, lol.

I’ll wait for it to eventually land on some streaming service
I could never wait for something this gorgeous on a small screen. I'm so glad to be in the "big" city now with access to an arthouse cinema. Gonna be able to catch this AND Pig over the next couple weeks hopefully.

Thankfully I don't have to go to boutique movie theaters to catch most of these films these days. The Regal across the street from work carries a lot of more mainstream friendly independent films and makes it easier to catch them on the big screen. They've been advertising the hell out of The Green Knight so I know they'll have it next week and I can't wait to catch it.

This is getting great reviews which makes me smile. I just wish I knew when it was releasing in Australia.

Nice to see it getting good reviews. A24 seems to be making the choice atmosphere films.

The showing at my theater tonight looks like it’s going to be decently packed. So much so my they added a third showing. Incredibly excited about seeing this.

Yeah I got tickets to see this tonight, can't wait.

This is one of those movies that’s going to have like an 88% critic rating on RT and a 40% fan rating. :funny:

I thought it was great. Everyone else I was with hated it. It’s sloooooooooooow.

Just got out and bro you weren't lying. I haven't seen the RT fan score for this, but I am fully expecting a lot of people "tricked" into thinking this is Game of Thrones to call this pretentious trash, ah well...

Writing my review rn, but I loved it.

I enjoyed Ritchie's take, but we needed something like this film. Its long overdue. Hollywood seems to think it needs to reinvent things before its even tried to make traditional adaptations.

^ What's the tone of the movie like? The trailers make it seem almost like a horror drama, is that what it ended up like? I got Robert Eggers' "The Witch" vibes from the first trailer so I'm hoping it's something like that in terms of tone and style.

I suppose it's like a Robert Eggers film in tone although it's way more quieter, but with pacing of a David Lowery film.

I'll say if you've read the Green Knight poem, the movie plays it pretty straight for the most part despite all the visuals until they do something special later on... which I thought really worked and it stuck the landing.
