Made by the fine folks that brought you the classic G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "The game is the first to center around DC Comics' Green Lantern franchise and we're excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay.

Not sure how this will turn out, so my enthusiasm is a bit low until we see more on it.

It's cool that is coming out a Green Lantern game but I'm not having so high expectations since is developed by Double Helix.

Nah, I'm sorry. But you never know, maybe they can still surprise us, only time will time, but that's a big maybe.
Is just that the GI Joe game was horrible.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

Green Lantern is such a difficult concept to nail in a videogame as it is, I think even for the best developers in the industry it would be tough to pull off.

Yea this game has no chance.

Neither does the Thor game or the Captain America game.

Just look at Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Games based on movies are generally sub par and games based on superhero movies are generally flat out awful.

The only recent superhero movie game that was even worth playing was prob Wolverine and that was because the game started out as its own title.

This could be the worst game in the world and I'd still buy it. But I've always a weakness for Lanterns...

No, the robotic Manhunters, which up until now, I've forgotten about. Wonder if they're figure into the movie.

No not the Martian Manhunter, but the cyborg Manhunters that came before the GL's.

Sure hope it doesnt suck bc GL has some awesome powers which would make for a fun game

I've been wondering about that too. They're pretty essential to the origins of the GL Corps. If this is a movie tie-in (and it probably is because they're using the movie ring) then I think they'll at least get name dropped.

I'm considering selling my 360 now after Batman 2 losing hype from me, now I'm torn with this game.

I was thinking about selling my system back in December, then Batman 2 was announced, so I kept it. I've been playing less and less games on my 360 for years now and now that I own a SNES and Genesis, my gaming is taken care of. Batman 2 just doesn't seem that, I don't know, "important" anymore.

I loved the first one's gameplay and it had my favorite Batman & Joker duo, but now I don't really feel the need to play the second one anymore. I could always just watch a Let's Play or the cut scenes if I'm really interested.

Fair enough, but bear in mind it's still gonna have The Joker AND Two-Face, Black Mask, Mister Freeze and The Penguin. AND you play in Gotham this time... GOTHAM! :hehe:

That is true. LaMarche as Mr. Freeze is something I'm looking forward to, regardless if I'll play it or not.

The big problem I see with this game, is how do you translate the fact that a Lantern Ring is supposed to create anything the user imagines. I mean, how do you give a player that capability? You... can't. They can't possibly program every single possible object, movement, imaginary creature, etc that a person could dream up to hit a super-villain with.

I mean, let's say I wanted to be cross universal and imagine Wolverines claws in giant and green glowey form? Am I gonna get it?

I think you are asking too much if thats what you want out of the game or expect. It obviously will have limitations but lets hope that those limitations can produce a decent and fun game

Hopefully. The devs will give us many options to use with the ring. Let's hope these guys have a good imagination for Green Lantern. I don't just want variations of fists and bats or whatever.

But, it could be really hard to pull that off. So for now, I'm going to cross my fingers.
