The start of this arc looks pretty awesome. Mattie Franklin dead, funky supernatural overtones, interesting art. After supurb Rhino and Lizard stories, I'm pretty psyched for this....

Not really. Ana and Sasha Kravinoff are resurrecting Sergei and Vladimir.

They need the blood of "The Spiders" to resurrect the dead Hunters. One of the Spider-Women was sacrificed in issue 1, bringing Vladimir (the Grim Hunter) back to life. Since it wasnt Spider-Man's pure blood, Vlad came back as a sort of man-lion. Ezekiel showed up at the end of the story, warning that the Kravens had learned how to tap into Spider-Man mystical background.

I always felt like the best spider-man storylines were the darkest ones and so far Grim Hunt is very good because of it. I would love to see Lark draw this book consistently.

He gets sick like a normal person, which I like. My girlfriend seems to come down with a cold every three weeks or so. And it was swine-flu, not bird flu. Swine-flu is actually quite common. My dad got it!

I loved 'Grim Hunt' part 1. Easily my favorite Spider-Man comic in eight months or so. I think complaining about Peter being sick is the nitpick of nitpicks. If I were to nitpick about anything, it would be how did Ana and Sasha know Kaine wasn't real and a clone of Spidey, if Spidey's identity is a total secret?

Back in ASM #12, Ock unmasks Spidey because Peter had a cold. In a dream, the costume tells Peter that he knew that illnesses weaken him.

End of "Revelations" Pt. 3, Ben Reilly is knocked out and kidnapped.
"Revelations" Pt. 4 opens with a new clone waking up thinking he's Ben Reilly and gets killed in the end. Actually turns to dust because this one was actually an imperfect clone, which is different from Ben Reilly.
Actual Ben Reilly hasn't been seen since his kidnapping at the end of Pt. 3.

If they ever do ressurect Ben, that would probably be the best explanation even if it does sound a little silly and convoluted (no offense imdaly). Plus it would be hard to work in with Spiderman's new continuity. Since Osborn no longer knows Peter is spiderman, why would he have a clone of Peter laying around?

Holy crap! I have to be honest I should have been expecting it with the whole "Hunting spiders" theme. So, this is definitely a storyline that's right up my alley and we have some KILLER Michael Lark artwork. This is what Spider-man comics are all about! WOOO!

And that Stan Lee/Marcos Martin backup started in this issue. So, this is going to be like a 12 part storyline that shows up for two pages? That's cool but, to be honest, I would like to see a little more than two pages!

Does anyone else find it ironic that Kaine originally killed Vladimir years ago... and now Vladimir in his current monster incarnation might have contributed to Kaine's death (I think that was him in the Spider-Man costume)?

I doubt even Joe Kelly was aware of that when he was writing it.
