I seriously question Sony's policy of leaving it down to publishers to come up with their own standards for each [online] game. I completely disagree with it. I'm not going to put my credit card details with five different companies for some bits of downloadable content. Sony is a huge force, and definitely has been with the PS2 - but now I see it being, at worst, a 50/50 race, but as time goes on I lean more and more towards Microsoft.

isnt he working with MS now for some new game?

Yes, His company is making CRACKDOWN for the X360.

I thought i'd be more impressed with Crackdown, but everything i've seen is pretty underwhelming.

Pretty much. I am looking forward to it because the previews so far have said that it is fun and since this guy did create GTA.

I am guessing that it is safe to say that Grand Theft Auto 4 will be the first & last Grand Theft Auto PS3 Game. If things go this way

i'm glad i'm not the only one not overwhelmed by crackdown... on paper it sounds great (hulk: ultimate destruction meets gta, etc) but in action it just looks... blah.

and the whole cell shading thing really doesn't go with that kind of game.

In action it looks amazing. Have you seen the rocket launcher?

Cel shading works fine. Look at the GTA artwork. It's all cartoony/drawn looking, the idea behind Cel shading to begin with.
