Not sure they can top the Civil War airport fight. I have a feeling it will be right up there though. Should be a similar length and the back and forth dialogue should be better.

Which of the two Avengers teams is the key though. Frankly, the Guardians have nobody who can match Vision or Wanda in power level, and they would have a tough time even against Iron Man or Spidey for that matter.

I would prefer the originals once they get back together.

Iron Man, Hulk, Cap, Thor, Hawkeye, and Widow.

Why would they fight anyway? I dont think Guardians have a chance.

Avengers have yet to have a good intergalactic encounter. Anything from space would be deemed bad to them. Thor likely won't know who they are either, so he can't tell the others if they are good.

Also pretty sure Rocket and Star Lord's mouths will get them in trouble.

The phrase "I am Groot" in Wakandan means "Piss off, you third-world Batman."

My hunch is that they come to blows because of:

A: Disagreement over strategy
B: The Avengers mistaking them for invaders

Both of which would prove all these guys to be bravado idiots. Why wouldn't they talk it out? The Avengers mistake them for invaders and immediately start fighting without question?

I don't see a reason for them to fight which is very convincing.

The first chance meeting between the two teams is Drax and Tony alone. Nuff said.

These two factions aren't going to fight, and if they did it'd be tedious and pointless. The entire "superhero vs superhero" angle is getting stale.

Revisiting it would be foolish after dedicating an entire movie to it, and chances are of all the thoughts at MS, this isn't even close to being one of them.

We're getting Hulk vs. Thor in Ragnarok as one of the major selling points, so I doubt MS is putting the kibosh on hero fights.

Maybe not entirely, but here it'd be too much. HVT you can sort of get away with given their tension towards each other in TA, but having the Guardians & Avengers fight would just be so pointless, imo.

Starlord could sic his dad at them :hehe:

Preferably no hero fights in this. I would however enjoy things heating up, but Star-Lord stopping everything when he recognizes Captain America, back from the dead.

"Oh my god, I know you! You're ... Shaun Cassidy, right? Awesome, you look great!"

"What? Who? No, I'm not ... okay, whatever."

Bravado idiots? No it doesn't, that's just you shortchanging the concept.

Face it - it happened in both Avengers movies and has also happened in Civil War. It's going to happen again, but the question is how. These two factions have never met each other and to expect them to get along initially is obtuse. These are all alphas we're talking about with highly combustible personalities.

The same alphas that let Ultron speak for five minutes?

Most people have never met most people they don't immediately fight. Would you not think, Star-lord as a human at least in looks intrigue the Avengers, not to mention a tree and a racoon looking species. Would you not think he would say before any fighting began that he was human?

The whole point of Civil War was hero infighting and the accords gave them a reason. Iron Man vs Thor kind of made sense in Tony saw Thor taking away his prisoner, Thor is a hothead. The other fights were then Hulk mind control.

Of course they could give them a valid reason to fight, but frankly if it's them fighting each other because they've just met, then that is beyond simple screenwriting.

Not to mention it wouldn't even be that fun as pretty much any version of the Avengers would have to be nerfed as to not trash the Guardians. Thor, Hulk, Vision and SW would all pretty much win the battle individually.

Hawkeye is an archer and a farmer. I'm sure he will instinctively try to kill Rocket on sight. :o

I never said anything about "simple screenwriting". It'll get fit into the narrative just like all the previous hero vs. hero dust ups.

Starlord could be wearing his mask causing them to mistake him for an alien. This is how they fought in EMH

:hehe:

Maybe they come to get Vision's stone to safeguard it, thinking "he's just an android after all..." and the Avengers take offence at this.

While I do think the original Avengers seem way more powerful, I could imagine that everything in space is also tougher than it is on earth so they're not as 'weak' as we think?

The chitauri weapons hurt Hulk, Thor blocked them - maybe the Guardians' weaponry is even stronger?

Wouldn't Wanda be able to debunk that pretty quickly one she saw into the Guardian's thoughts and realized they fear what Thanos could do as well?

You're operating under the assumption that she's there among the group that first meets the Guardians.
