Guitar Hero III vs. Rock Band

For some reason, at my Wal-Mart, we had the wireless versions of GH3 on PS3 and Xbox 360 the day it came out, but they all mysteriously dissapeared a day or two later. I haven't even seen any copies of the PS3 version at our store since then, and the only copies of the Xbox 360 version are the ones that come with the wired Xplorer controller. We've got no shortage of the Wii or wired PS2 versions either, but if you're looking for the PS3 version or the wireless 360 or PS2 versions, you're out of luck at my store. I don't know what's going on.

is the guitar hero 3 controller that comes with the game any good? cuz if not then i'll just pick up a wireless controller first.
