hey every1,havent been on this forum in a while.
everyone keeping up with the episodes?
I'm downloading the new eps now.
recently got my neo zx tole and guyout figures :) and I'm waiting for my gigantics to arrive, should be with me in the next 2 weeks or so.

Im probably one of the few people here that hasn't seen any episodes from the new Guyver series (I just don't have the patience to download them :). I just noticed recently that ebay and some anime websites offer some "bootleg" region-free copies of episodes 1-13 for sale.

I just wanted to know what episode the series is currently on??? Is the series almost over AND will there be a second season???

One more thing, I was a huge fan of the OVA series and actually that series was my very first exposure to anime (OMG...blood, guts, cursing!!!) back in the early 90's, besides anime that was syndicated on television over here in the U.S. like G-force, Robotech, Voltron, Tranzor-Z etc.

I noticed that with the new series, there is a resurgence in the Guyver property, with the release of the figures and other merchandise. I seen that the official DVDs will be released soon (in Japan of course) and noticed the soundtrack was released along with the re-release of the soundtrack from the Guyver Out of Standardized OVA. That being said, I also loved the soundtrack to the Bio-Booster Armor OVA series and was wondering...why wasn't the soundtrack to that series also re-released???!!! Does ANYONE know WHY it wasn't re-released along with of ALL the other soundtracks, or will it be released at a latter time???

I had just seen someone put it up on ebay, as a matter of fact, Guyverfanboy are you the same Guyverfanboy that had put a bid on the CD soundtrack??? Cuz I had a close eye on it also :) But when I saw that the auction price had reached past $150!!!!!! I said forget it. The thing sold for $177!!!!!!!! (damn nursebetty) Although I know it's rare, its just a little too much for a CD IMO. So does anyone know if the soundtrack will get an eventual re-relase like the other???

I know that this has nothing to do with Guyver, but i'm a huge Macross fan and a few years back I so badly wanted the perfect Veritech toy and at the time the best there was, was the Bandai 1/55 Veritech toy, which was rare and hard to find cuz the things were made back in the early 80's. Whenever I saw one on ebay the things were going for $200 and up!!! And in most cases open and used figures!!!! I came very close to convicing myself to buy one but didn't. I'm glad I didn't cuz now I own the Yamato Valkyrie/Veritech toy which were released a couple of years ago and those are THE BEST versions of the toy YET, and cost less!!! Not only that but with the popularity of the Yamato toys brought about a re-release of the old Bandai toys. Good thing I waited.

Anyway I was thinking that maybe this could be a possible case with the Guyver OVA series soundtrack. With the resurgence in interest for the Guyver I don't see why this soundtrack couldn't get a re-release and it possibly getting re-mastered. Anyone have any answers, thoughts, opinions or feedback???

the new series is currently on its 20th episode, the 21st episode will be showing this saturday.
to my knowledge there will be 26 episodes in this season, but I am not sure as to whether or not there will be a second season, I hope and think that there will be as the guyver figures seem to be selling well and i don't think they will make the mistake of leaving the story half finished, its not even half way yet, i don't think.
hope this helped anyway.

gregtestagent - what figure did you get the other day?

i like the anime seies and the second movie was just wondering if anyone else does
Hi! Enjoyed the anime series alot, and I enjoyed both of the movies, even more so with the second one, more darker toned, problem that I have though, because I am working on a manuscript in this genre and it concerns me a whole lot, and it is this, the faithful translation from one medium to the next.

Did not have a problem with the Guyver suit in itself but it just bothered me just seeing the Xoanoids and how they were finally portrayed. THAT was painful, very painful, to see. I've read the comics(damn, can't recall the name of the artist/writer I read ALOT of manga) however, the Xoanoids in their on-screen personna are portrayed in comical fashion. To introduce audiences unfamiliar to this name this way, I think is a mistake. There are films like Transporter 1 and 2 doing crazy ass stunts that YOU and I know, no human being can do (maybe Jackie Chan or Steve-O) but there he is doing all that stuff and yes, I know, budget considerations must be taken into account, but I never would have thought that as dark a story as Guyver and with the type of villians (I envision a very foreboding and unsettling tone and look) from the manga, that to opt for comic would have been not out of the question.

anybody keeping up with the new series here then?

zx tole looked realli good, and aptom IV apears, he looks really sinister lol

Will it be after the season is over, meaning, will they go for two seasons and call it a day?? I can't download the episodes from my computer, I'm on dial-up. I'll have to wait for it to be released on DVD. Anybody know how many volumes of Guyver manga there are in total??

Volume 23 came out in Japan on December 23rd 2005. The chapters are still coming out in Monthly Shonen Ace.

Cool, thanks. That's a whole lot of story, it would need several seasons to be told properly. I hope more seasons are given the green light.

I guess the season will end in a cliffhanger then... up to what volume of the graphic novels did this first season cover??

Volume 10!? wow, they covered a LOT. Does anybody know how many volumes the Manga is scheduled for, or will it be an on-going series?? I guess if it goes between 24-30 this new anime could potentially go for three seasons, which would be good for us all.

Jeezus man, did you look at my last post?! The Guyver is still ongoing in Japan at 23 volumes with the chapters still coming out in the Monthly Shonen Ace magazine from Kadokawa.

Here is something I found at Guyverboard

It seems Guyver is not only making a comeback but is surpassing it's orginal popularity status.

That's because the new TV series is much better than the old ovas.

You guys should check this place out. I went here and put in a search for Guyver and I'm looking at fanart I can't find anywhere else.

^That's pretty cool. I recognize one or two screennames who are a part of theguyver.net forums. :)
