Hacker Drama 'Mr. Robot' - New Original Series on USA

Could someone refresh my memory? What’s the backstory on this “Lucky Irish Bastard” fellow (who seemed to appear out of nowhere)?

FBI arrested him, Don interrogated him... obviously she had thought of him for a special use.

Was that last season? Or even before? Anyhoo, thanks for the reminder.

Janice had to get her comeuppance eventually- though I question how much blood Dom could have really lost if she could still get that gun and shoot three people- but damn it, I loved her as a character if just because she was so deliciously evil.

Any chance Whiterose was telling the truth about Angela?

What’s on the memory stick? Operating instructions for the alleged/rumored time machine? Is that how Angela could still be “alive”?

I’m guessing it’s a San Junipero type situation for rich people... I don’t see WR’s project being full sci-fi timetravel.

I had to look up that reference. :O So, a VR? And that would tie into the “young Elliot”/conference room scenes?

For some reason, I doubt Whiterose was being genuine about Angela, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong. I feel like an idiot, though. On top of being a nail-biter of an episode to get that last account, all this time I thought we only had 10 episodes this season and that the finale would be this Sunday, only to see that no, we've got 13, so still four more to go. That's neat.

Apparently, the last two episodes will air back-to-back on the same night. So that could be "three" more to go (depending how you count them). :cwink:

I wasn’t feeling this episode.

I really liked it, we needed a reprieve after the last few. Even though it’s best for Darlene, that last scene was sad - her missing Dom at the gate.

But, deep down their relationship wouldn’t have lasted long... as Dom was even questioning Darlene at the dam/park bench.

It was such a simple scene. But the suspense had me on the edge of my seat.

Yeah, somehow I think we're not done with Dom yet. It'd be too easy to simply have it be 'Oh, the Dark Army's not interested in you or your family anymore,' even if it could, in fact, be just that. I expected the episode to end with Dom waking up and seeing Irving in the seat next to her.

That said, yes, I did like the whole 'Will she, won't she' of Darlene trying to decide if she'll get on the plane and Dom deciding to head back. The episode didn't do the simple, cliche thing of the two meeting up and making that decision together, but twisted it by having Darlene just miss Dom at the end. Even if we don't see Dom for the rest of the series, as that'd be a pretty normal sendoff, I have this nagging feeling that her story isn't over.

I thought it was cliched that she just missed her. :hehe:

The “I love you” into fade to red, then what followed.

Oh my, holy emotions...

I can’t believe it ends tonight...

Goodbye, friend.

So I’m only 10min in, and it’s like a shot for shot remake of BTTF. :hehe:

It was masterful. Damn, Sam Esmail... you did it.

“Hello, Elliot.” - Darlene

Also, that 2001 homage was aces.

I love the notion that Mr. Robot was still protective to Prime Elliot by battling/keeping the Monster (our Elliot) at bay while also beating Evil Corp/Whiterose for the ultimate goal; a better world for everyone including Prime Elliot.

In a sense, we were a stand in-Prime Elliot... not the actual one. It was The Monster’s way to cope with his takeover/situation he built to lock up and create a better world for Prime Elliot / yet sadly almost lead to Monster Elliot (4) thinking he was Prime Elliot.

IE:

Elliot (who we didn’t see outside of Halloween ‘14 and this finale epilogue scene) made Mr Robot (1) to protect him... He then made his abusive mom (2) to blame himself for his father... Then made little Elliot (3) to hold onto his innocence... When all of those failed to save the true Elliot in the real world, he let out his monster/mastermind (4) - our Elliot who took us on a journey for roughly a year of Prime Elliot’s life.

That’s what the “epilogue” was... Showing that they completed their goal in creating a safer/better world for Prime Elliot. (2) and (3) were already there in sense, but needed a little push. Mr. Robot (1) wanted to join them only if he could convince the Monster aka our Elliot (4) to also join them - which was our finale.
