Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
[carves V into poster on wall] The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. [giggles] Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot...

Concerning non-violence: It is criminal to teach man not to defend himself when he is the constant victim of brutal attacks.

Sex and Race, because they are easy, visible differences, have been the primary ways of organising human beings into superior and inferior groups and into the cheap labour on which this system still depends. We are talking about a society in which there will be no roles other than those chosen, or those earned. We are really talking about Humanism.

    The Gunpowder Treason and plot ;
I know of no reason why Gunpowder Treason
    Should ever be forgot.

    Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,
    'Twas his intent.
To blow up the King and the Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below.
    Poor old England to overthrow.
By God's providence he was catch'd,
With a dark lantern and burning match

Holloa boys, Holloa boys, let the bells ring
Holloa boys, Holloa boys, God save the King!

    Hip hip Hoorah !
    Hip hip Hoorah !

A penny loaf to feed ol'Pope,
A farthing cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down,
A f4ggot of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar,'
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head,
Then we'll say: ol'Pope is dead.

Victory! For I have viewed this thread vividly for vicarious reasons. Verily, I say, vast amounts of pudding shall be put in your general vicinity because Vince decided he didn't like your vicious attack. Young Vincent found your vice to be vile and vigorous at the same time but he then said he hopes you choke on a vine. Your venomous words have left me virtually and vitally vexed. Very good, you vengeful vandals. I hope you have a volatile vacation in Venus.

Okay, I like 'V', and all. But, how about some appreciation for the man himself?

Notice how 95 % of the people on this board who now celebrate this pseudo-holiday didn't even realize there was a Guy Fawkes day until that movie came out? Just sayin. :cwink: :woot:

    YAY!
I'm gonna make a cake shaped like Parliament, then blow it up while wearing a Guy Fawkes mask.

Do we celebrate Bonfire Night because Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament of because he failed to blow up Parliament. I've never understood which one it is.
