Apparently, today is STAR WARS DAY. I'm not sure how you celebrate it or why it's the day before Cinco De Mayo, but I'm guessing it has something to do with watching the Original Trillogy today and drinking til you forget about the prequels tomorrow.

TEDDY!

:boba:

There are people wandering around the student union at KU dressed as Leia and a storm-trooper, and my lunch was referred to as General Greivous Chicken. Not even kidding.

"May the Fourth be with You!"

It's Star Wars Day, not Randomly Replace E's With I's Day.

I celebrated today. Wore a vader shirt, ROTJ watch, had a mini-vader with me all day, and quoted all the movies. Now its time for the real festivites to being :awesome:

Finally, a day to celebrate the classic movies that were a result of George Lucas delegating the tasks of writing and directing to other people (and forgetting the travesties that resulted when he tried to do both by himself).

So I think I'm going to celebrate by buying milk, blue food coloring, and mixing them together, and maybe make a white russian... or maybe it should be called a blue harvest!!!

I'm going to watch Spaceballs.

I like the action in the prequels. If someone were to edit all of the lightsabre battles into one long ass clip, I'd watch the hell out of that.

I just didn't like the plot, the inherent stupidity in many of the characters, the ridiculous dialogue, the performances of a few actors, or the totally unbelievable romance between Anakin and Padme.

But, you know, the action scenes were awesome.

the OT had some ridiculous dialogue & meh performances at times too IMO.

It should be the official drink of Star Wars Day. It'll be like Egg Nog for Thanksgiving/Christmas.

Agreed 10,000%

"She has lost the will to live" WTF???? :wall:"

My impression--

"Oh no! Padme is dying! Do you think it has anything to do with any respiratory problems she developed as a result of trying to deliver twins mere hours after her husband tried to choke her to death?"

"No, Obi. I'm afraid she's got a bad case of the blues."

Virtually all dialogue in the prequels made me

:barf:

My favorite (or least favorite) quote was from Anakin.

"Your skin is soft. Not like sand. Sand is hard and unpleasant to be around. Not like your skin."

I didn't realize this but there is actually an entry on Urban Dictionary ("Attack of the Clones") which states "A reference to the second movie in the star wars prequel trilogy, which had writing just as bad as phantom menace but suffered more because George Lucas was stupid enough to try to write romance scenes."

Don't forget this delightful exchange...

Anakin Skywalker: You are so beautiful.
Padmé: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin Skywalker: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padmé: So love has blinded you?
Anakin Skywalker: Well, that's not exactly what I meant.
Padmé: But it's probably true.
