Happy star wars day!!!

oh really? what about this classic :

you scruffy looking nerf herder. oh yeah, not cheesy at all

who would have thought another thread about star wars would turn into more prequel bashing? :o

I'm an OT man myself. But the prequels had it's moments.

In honor of this day lets all watch some of the greatist sequences in the films:

Don't forget this delightful exchange...

Anakin Skywalker: You are so beautiful.
Padmé: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin Skywalker: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padmé: So love has blinded you?
Anakin Skywalker: Well, that's not exactly what I meant.
Padmé: But it's probably true.
Imagine this going on for over an hour, and you get the Twilight movies. Somehow those are getting really popular though.

The Star Wars prequels are TERRIBLE!!!

The OT are classic...but JEEZ! It is also worse that Lucas had to edit his old films BECAUSE of his prequels. Make the good films try and fit in with the crappy ones

I'll celebrate on the 27th, the day the first film came out, by watching all three Star Wars films.

That's right, there are only three Star Wars movies. And they don't involve Hayden Christensen.

Conclusion: Terrible romantic dialogue is the key to modern box office success.

My Fave bits from all the movies

Episode 1: Podrace
Episode 2: Clone Sequence at the End with Empire Music
Episode 3: Vader Rising
Episode 4: Binary Sunset
Episode 5: Vader/Luke Lightsabre fight
Episode 6: Vader redeeming himself. And Ewoks, they are ****ing cute! :awesome:

My Fave bits from all the movies

Episode 1: Podrace
See, I'm kinda torn about the podrace. Visually, it was fun to watch. I really enjoyed it until I put it into context. Literally, Qui-Gon staked their only way home on the hopes that a 10 year old kid (who, admittedly, was very gifted in robotics and electronics) would win his very first podrace just because he had a high midichlorian (or whatever they're called) count. He was damn lucky that bet of his didn't backfire and leave them stranded on Tattooine.

It did show that Anakin is a great pilot

screw the haters, I like the prequels.

I'm with you 100%. I'll take Mace Windu's brooding stoicism over Luke Skywalker's whiny petulance any day of the week. The prequels hold up just fine under the light of the OT.

How about Luke's first line: "But I was going to go to Tosche Station and pick up some power converters", said in the whiny, wimpy way Luke talked in ANH and ESB. Even as a kid, I knew Luke acted like a wuss until ROTJ.

and yet when anakin does this, it's something completely different.

Largely because Luke had character development through his films. He actually grows from whiney kid who doesn't have his priorities straight, to a warrior. That's the point of the trilogy, to show a boy growing to a man and understanding the responsibilities of becoming part of a larger universe.

The so called 'prequels' didn't have any character development... of any kind, certainly not where Hayden Christensen was involved.

So keep your action packed, special effects extravaganza of the 'prequels' I'll stick to the well developed and executed plot, great special effects (using real models) and excellent characters of the real Star Wars trilogy.

Just my $.02.

.

You don't see a difference between Anakin the wonder slave and Anakin the tormented Sith Lord?
