There are a few that are quite good like Requiem For A Dream. Movies that are very hard to watch and even worse to re watch. I was watching this movie Ketchum's The Girl Next Door. I just caught the tail end of the movie but it was so hard to watch but it didn't move me to watch it again, not even to understand the whole thing. I felt dirty just watching what I watched. Any other film you consider hard to watch? Or am I just being a little hard on movies? Oh yeah, Another one that is hard to watch is I Spit On Your Grave, I was watching it on Netflix but darn, too much for a 1970+ movie. I couldn't continue watching it.

Mysterious Skin with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Not a graphic movie in terms of gore, but it's a very disturbing subject matter.

Antichrist.

I barely got through the first viewing. It re-sensitized me and then made me de-sensitized, when it was over. I can watch it now and it does not bother me, but as I posted long ago, I was silent for the rest of the night following my first viewing of it.

the Hobbit. heck, most of the Lords of the Rings movies. i'm glad i saw it. but you couldn't pay me to rewatch them. who has that kind of time?

Star Wars Episode II, when I hear the actors speaking that horrible dialogue I want to put my foot through the screen!

Agreed on Requiem for a Dream. A great movie I never intend to watch ever again.

Also, Eden Lake.

I find Monster a rough watch. It's a damn good movie, but I really like the romance plot and it's always so bitter sweet because I know what's coming.

Hard Candy - Basically Ellen Page torturing possible pedophile Patrick Wilson for 90 minutes. Keeps you guessing and is wonderfully acted but some parts really are brutal to watch.

Trust - David Schwimmer directs a story about the aftermath of a teenage girl's experience by an online predator. Stars Clive Owen and is incredibly bleak. But a really intriguing watch.

Disconnect - Three interconnecting stories loosely based around the dangers of online communication. Stars a fantastic Jason Bateman in a serious role as well as others including Paula Patton and Alexander Skarsgard. Not the greatest film but quite hard to watch at points.

Iron Man 3

Cannibal Holocaust
The Hobbit was tough at some points
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tide - I tend to doze after Jack and Angelica reach Blackbeard's ship.

Most of these that i'm listing are hard to watch to varying degrees of painfully boring to tasteless to just absolutely terrible.

The Tree of Life
The Thin Red Line
Amour
To the Wonder
Antichrist
Cosmopolis
Enter the Void
Melancholia
2001: A Space Odyssey
Bellflower
Detention
Southland Tales

I took out the movies I haven't seen on your list, but the most of the remainders are good examples I'm sure a lot of people would agree with.

Out of those, I would rewatch The Thin Red Line, 2001, Enter the Void and maybe Melancholia...maybe.

Antichrist is a one time watch due to how messed up it is. I'm a huge horror fan and love some violence and gore, but the stuff in that movie hit me the wrong way.

Southland Tales was pretty lame.

Just watched Cosmopolis last night. I've never walked out on a movie, or turned one off on TV that I wanted to watch(meaning, it wasn't something I came across randomely on TV because I was bored.) That movie was torture to sit through. Some of the ideas behind it were interesting but the dialogue was annoying. I imagine the novel would be much better.

Enter the Void I bought on Blu-ray shortly after I watched it on Netflix. It's long and pretty drawn out, but god damn do I love it.

A Clockwork Orange instantly comes to mind for me.

Irreversible
Tetsuo
Gummo

...and for different reasons Project X. I can't get through that movie due to having the most annoying cast I have ever seen. I've never watched a film where the leads pissed me off that much. Alexis Knapp is the only redeeming thing. But yeah, can't stand that flick.
