Jim Davis (Christian Bale) is an ex-Army Ranger recently discharged from the military, yet still haunted by nightmares of his former occupation. While seeking a position with the LAPD that will allow him to marry his Mexican girlfriend and bring her to the United States, Jim kills time chilling with his best friend, Mike (Freddy Rodriguez).

Mike is feeling the heat from his longtime girlfriend, Sylvia (Eva Longoria): either get a job or get out. But the love of a beautiful woman can't compare to the bonds of friendship, and Jim and Mike are soon cruising the streets of South Central, slipping back into a deceitful life of drugs, violence and petty crime, just like when they were kids.

I just got done watching the trailer and it looks pretty damn great. I know Bale's got major love on here for Batman Begins. This new one of his should be great.

I sooooooooo badly want to see this after Batman Begins, The Machinist and The Prestige I'm startin' to become a Bale fan :(

Yeah i know what you mean Amd that poster is badass looking. I heard there's some oscar buzz for him for this. Like for Denzel in Training Day.

lol Bale's like the whitest white guy and he's playing a guy outta south central. I wonder if he'll say the n word with the a at the end. Most white kids who grow up in the hood do....its weird.

Maybe he'll show up with a pimped out batmobile?

But in all seriousness i think this looks great and i can't wait to see it.

Plus i heard this is like a independent type film from what i've heard.

This movie will be awesome. Bale always puts on a good performance no matter what the movie is.

Is Bale Mexican in this movie?
Its what happens when you grow up in L.A. People always mistake me for being Mexican or something when Im really azn!:o But anyways those ****ing clips were ****ing sick! Has oscar written all over it! I cant wait for this movie!

Saw it in the summer loved it! :D Pretty sad ending as well :(

Another great movie. Sometimes I think there is no hope for great movies then I see the few.

Can't wait for this, hopefully Rescue Dawn will get an eventual wide release like this one is

Awesome.

Borat on Friday (!!!!), Harsh Times next week, and Casino Royale the 17th.

"From the Creator of 'Training Day'"? Sold.

Man I knew I should stuck with my Harsh Times Avvy:o

Mmmmmmm, saw it about two months ago here in the UK.

Possible spoilers ahead ...

Its ...... ok, but not great. The best thing about the movie is Bale ... he is the ONLY reason to see this film. The plot is wafer thin and plods along without building to any sort of natural climax and the supporting cast coast through the whole thing.

But Bale is worth the ticket price alone ... its a powerhouse acting display that rises way above the movie its in.

My opinion ... if you like Bale then don't miss it!

Does Eva Longoria play Christian Bale's gf or the other guy's gf? IF its Bale (he's lucky) why does it look like shes hugging the other guy in the poster?

This movie comes out on dvd here in the uk next month.

I want to see this, borat and Deja vu
