Jughead meets an old jazz drummer, who inspired him, and at the end of the story the drummer dies, and Jughead dedicates a performance of "St. James Infirmary Blues" to him.

It was the greatest Jughead story ever:(

...It was really good.

I haven't... but it sounds great.

I wish I was cool like Jug... :(

Seeing him wailing out the lyrics to St. James Infirmary Blues was so awesome:(

I went down to St. James Infirmary,
Saw my baby there.
She was stretched out on a long white table, so sweet, so cold, so bare.

Let her go, let her go, God bless her.
Wherever she may be,
She can search this whole wide world over,
She ain't never gonna find another man like me.

When I die, I want you to dress me in straight-laced shoes
Box-back coat and a Stetson hat
Put a twenty- dollar gold piece on my watch chain,
So the boys will know that I died standin' pat.
I cry just thinking about it:O

Sounds exactly like the Simpsons episode with Lisa and Bleeding Gums Murphy or whatever that guy's name was.

I'm pretty sure I read that one.

I haven't read a new Archies story of any kind for at least ten years.

The old stories are the best ones.

Thank God I wasn't the only one who thought of that. :D

I still read new ones, but I think the Archie comics peaked in the 60's/70's. The stories were funny and inventive and the art was perfect thanks to Dan DeCarlo's designs and style.

I think that the publishers of Archie have tried to stay too contemporary and PC.

Ethyl is no longer that ugly and Moose is no longer too dumb and Dilton is kinda cool instead of being really nerdy.

Who's feelings are they trying to protect? Comic characters have no feelings.

I totally agree. I remember when Ethel used to be bucktoothed, cross-eyed, gangly, and totally lacked social skills. Nowadays, she's just a little less pretty than Betty and Veronica.
