Hatchet 2

After watching "Road to Frightfest" I really want to check out this guy's work. The "Fairy Tale Police" and "Saber" were just hilarious. My favorite part of the Road to Frightfest was the ending narration.

That's right, Empire Theater. The boys tossed off in the popcorn. Laugh all you want, the joke's on you mother****ers."

Cool, hope to see the sequel sooner than later.

Adam Green and other Horror director Joy Lynch are making a comedy tv show together, based on one of his short films coffee and donuts.

I'm sure there will be as much over the top deaths, just like in the first.

Well, hopefully John Carl Buechler comes back to do the FX, and maybe do the Cootchie Face kill in full effect that we didn't see in F13 part 7.

Cootchie Face kil? Care to refresh my memory, I've only seen part 7 once, even know i own the dvd.

When Jason takes an axe to the bi.tchy blondes face after she opens the door and jason was standing there. It was called that because her face resembled a certain part of the female anatomy. Thanks to the MPAA's agenda against the films at that time, you never seen it

Ah okay then. Yes they talk about that on the special edition dvd and also on his name was Jason.

The raw footage was cut can be found online, I think on youtube.

Yup, that is the one. The guy on the beach while his GF was skinny dipping is also a pretty similar kill in F13 part 7. But we can thank former MPAA head Dick Jack Valenti for taking the kills out of a F13 films because he was concerned about glorification of Violence, while Stallone and Ahnold were mowing down criminals and soldiers by the hundreds in their films around the same time.

I guess it was just a serial killer type of thing then. Ita okay to mow down terrorists, but not to walk around stalking and killing people.

The same thing happen to part 8 and why you wonder why there was no blood. It was all trimmed out by the MPAA. They were out against any type of these movies. And Green even had problems with them trying to get a R Rated version for the theatrical release. And the movie in all its Unrated glory was then released on dvd. He talks about it on the commentary.

Valenti was a huge, huge *****e when it came to Slasher flicks. They used to bring it up all the time in Genre magazines and interviews back in the day.

Yeah, I seen them mentioned it alot. Saying certain pieces of frames of film needed to be taken out to be given a R Rating. They said the first one slipped by them, but after that those films were on their radars.

'Hatchet 2' Casting News, Double the Body Count

Earlier this morning we told you that Adam Green would be returning to write and direct Hatchet 2 for Anchor Bay Entertainment. We just hopped on the phone with Green, who is not only busy prepping the gory sequel, but also working on the release of his thriller Frozen (confirmed to hit theaters on February 5, 2010). Beyond the break you'll find who is returning, along with more details on Victory Crowley's upcoming massacre.

After announceing Green's return to the director's chair, we caught up with him to chat briefly about HATCHET 2, which begins lensing this coming January in Los Angeles, CA.

First and foremost, Green agreed to return because Anchor Bay agreed to let him make the sequel he wants, and not a broader film.

In addition, Green plans on doubling the body count. Makeup effects coordinator Robert Pendergraft (face rip kill) returns and promises a new, improved look for Victory Crowley.

Horror icon Kane Hodder is confirmed to return as Victor Crowley/Mr. Crowley, with Tony Todd returning as Reverend Zombie and John Carl Buechler as Jack Cracker.

A new addition to the cast is R.A. Mihailoff, who plays Leatherface in Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.

Unfortunately, Marybeth (originally played by Tamara Feldman) is being recast. "We're going in a different direction and will announce our new hero very soon as it's someone we are overjoyed to bring into our family," says Green.

Cinematographer Will Barratt returns along with original producers Sarah Elbert and Cory Neal.

Kinda hate how they have to recast the female lead from the first, i liked her.

Well, it's not the first time thats happened. Maybe she pulled another Patricia Arquette.

Maybe its one of those cases where the Actress is to big for a film like this now. She was on a ABC show for a few seasons before it was canceled. and whats to be known as a serious actress.

Rumor has it Danniel Harris may have the lead in Hatchet 2.
