The Dark Knight Have we or they gone too far?

Whoa that's some story. A lesser man would've pissed himself when they did the car stunt.

What next? Shooting people who wander onto the set in the crotch?

You guys are ******ed. Im sorry but for those of you who threaten this guys credibility are *******s. None of you have probably even been there. Ive been there three times and the security guards are like this. I guess you all didnt read my report earlier but they were shouting F bombs at YOUNG kids on Thursday night. I know at least 2 or 3 ppl on these boards were there with me. I understand them not wanting me there, hell I was trying to get video just to show you guys. But ppl just watching? Theres nothing wrong with this. Every other movie that films in the middle of a city lets gawkers watch, they're just monitored for behavior. Warner Bros. is known for this BS. Let me repost what I posted last night:

I agree. I dont blame the security guards though, its whoevers in charge of the PA's. I honestly dont get why the want to keep people from seeing what theyre doing. Im going to Film School in 3 months, and WB needs to realize the term "publicity". WHY are they going to this great lengths to keep it a secret? Everyone of us who is trying to spy on the set already have our tickets paid for. No one is going to not see the movie because they saw some filming going on, in fact, that would only intice people to want to see it more! Come on guys, these hollywood studios need to realize that they're not Gods gift to this earth. Theyre in a business, and they need to focus on making money. How about you spend more on marketing and less on Chicago thugs who double for security in yellow polos. I think good 'ol Chris Nolan would agree w/ me.

For those who were there with us Thursday night when the big group got kicked out (b4 the drunks) There was a dad and his two kids and the thug security guard came up shouting F-bombs at ppl. If I were that guy my attorney would be calling WB until I got a signed appology from the Warner bros president himself. I doubt nolan even knows whats going on.

P.S. some of my anger comes from being Black listed by WB a few years back, more notably when after I attended the Hollywood premiere of Begins (yes I got in) my name was mistaken for some kid who got kicked out mid-movie for being rowdy. Are you kidding me? I was peeing my pants next to Jim Lee the whole movie! Anyways, when I graduate from Chapman im going to intern as a PA with warner bros and I HOPE I get fired for letting some kids watch some filming.

PPS. Hey WB, when I was in chicago I stole one of those pink "SET" signs for my own private collection. There. I said it. So when PA steve cant find the set its my fault. F*ers.

Lol I got a little winded there. No seriously Im about to drive the 3 hours back up there. Not to see filming, just to really theaten some of the security.

Imagine how annoying it must be for all the people making the film. I know people are within their rights to watch and stuff, but if they are being told to leave then it's for a reason.

I dunno how legit this story actually is. It sounds a little bit over-the-top, IMO. And the guy did sound like he thinks his **** don't stink. Anybody else catch the part where he compared himself to an "average person". Methinks this guy may be full of it.

If not, that's pretty lame of Nolan and crew.

Thats why you have security guards to monitor onlookers. Not threaten them with violence. Also, people on a parking garage BLOCKS away from the set arent in the way of shooting. Hell, in Begins you can see the whole CREW in the elevator shaft on that very garage with the tumbler. lol.

P.s. I sent an email in regards to all this to Warne bros. Im betting I dont get a response though.

That's a worrying report. They seem to be clamping down. Weird thing is, as gregchick1's reports indicate, Nolan himself has been very friendly with the fans. It must be the producers scaring the crap out of people.

its all pretty obvious. we have no right to be on set. maybe we can argue we have right to watch from far away, but WB got chicago's approval and could cause real trouble if we try to get on set. if you wanna meet the stars, you gotta pay. and that means standing off-set where you can't see ***** and wait till they walk out. I sacrificed watching dozens of batmobile scenes (i could hear all the explosions and fireworks and saw all the smoke from the street) so that i could meet nolan. you can't expect everything, you can't expect it to be handed to you. get a grip. find another place to see it, move around the floors, hide, PARK YOUR CAR IN THE GARAGE. suck it up and live w/it. you're not SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO JUST SHOW UP. you gotta be sneeky, pay your dues. so shut it.

He was gonna rape the girl. Therefore I found the crotch-shooting slightly funny.

fair enough. good robot.

I have no problem believing the security guys were pushy and rude, but breaking laws? probably not, they might be ********s but I doubt they're idiots out to endanger their jobs or cause legal hassles for the production. apart from that the guy definitely sounds like he's trying to sensationalise the whole thing, "i woulda fought them" yeah okay buddy. So I'm kinda doubting the severity of driving intimidation. and to me it's completely within reason that WB would want to keep snoopers away.

Erm, the guy wasn't on set..he was across the street in another parking garage.

Exaclty. And im sorry but to me basic human rights are not to be controlled by Warner Bros. I like Batman but come on. Im bored of this now noone will really know anyway unless they're there to witness it.

basic human rights? lol

try keep it in perspective eh

I'm with Director and crew on this one...he shouldn't have been spying on the project.

They are trying to make a film and keep spoilers to a minimum...it's important for a director/writers to make sure that secrecy remains...or else it'd be like taking an artists work and smashing it in front of him.

It shows NO respect to the artist by spoiling his work that he has taken great pains to work and design so that it entertains and surprises.

Robocop is a jerk. shoots a guy in the nuts

Agreed. He needs upgraded.

Robocop 2 what are your directives?

Directive 1 : Get Nuke_
Directive 2 : Get Nuke_
Directive 3 : Get Nuke_

Good robot.

I don't get at all why the people who are watching from a distance, disrupting filming. Could someone please explain this to me in more detail, because as far as I'm concerned, they're not getting in the way of the crew, actors, or Nolan on the set. They're just watching, so unless they're being drunken idiots (like the ones from the night before), or the 2 kids who yell out to the cast and crew on set (like in the guys report), or are using flashes on their camera (which I'm sure people understand not to do by now), why are they getting in the way of filming? Please explain.

No one is taking offence to the director wanting to keep his work secret, its what the guards did to get him off.

Thats the problem.

"Caine, Lets step outside."

:o

"I attempted to explain to him that it was a parking structure, and he had no business telling me where I could and could not be if I wasn't on the set. He argued back, and started to threaten physical violence. I'd stand up to the ****er in a fight, if I had to."

Whoa....Stop the story...hold the phone.

Okay, I was with him till then. :cmad:

While I don't agree with the scare tactics of the hired muscle, that was uncalled for. You can retell the account wthout using those terms.

Exactly. Why side with overzealous security when Risk and others have said how accomodating the staff is with first hand knowledge. Long as you don't get in the way there really shouldnt be a problem. Everyone from SHH thats been down there has more respect than to cock things up for the sake of a picture

If they punched the guy, I'd say they were wayyy out of line.
But they didn't. They just used scare-tactics. That's there job. No problem.

the other day someone got footage of the Scarecrow on set. if Cillian isn't announced in the cast that's because WB wanted to keep it a secret. someone also saw the fake Batman being gassed. it's completely reasonable that they'd want prevent details being leaked. if friendly crew members want to talk to fans that's all well and good but the security guys they have their own job to do.

Oh I get that. Nolan wants a character a secret and I can understand that he's probably a little annoyed that someone exposed the character. But I'm mainly refering to those who just want to watch; no camera, no video, just sit there watch the film come to life.
