The Dark Knight Have we or they gone too far?

I don't get at all why the people who are watching from a distance, disrupting filming. Could someone please explain this to me in more detail, because as far as I'm concerned, they're not getting in the way of the crew, actors, or Nolan on the set. They're just watching, so unless they're being drunken idiots (like the ones from the night before), or the 2 kids who yell out to the cast and crew on set (like in the guys report), or are using flashes on their camera (which I'm sure people understand not to do by now), why are they getting in the way of filming? Please explain.

Its a disruption when production assistants are stopping to look through binoculars at people with cameras. They then get the security gaurds, who in turn have to shagg us out. IMO, im sure the PA's have better things to do than watch us.

the other day someone got footage of the Scarecrow on set. if Cillian isn't announced in the cast that's because WB wanted to keep it a secret. someone also saw the fake Batman being gassed. it's completely reasonable that they'd want prevent details being leaked. if friendly crew members want to talk to fans that's all well and good but the security guys they have their own job to do.

WB and the crew are 2 different things. The set was completely open to the street, the crew couldn't be that bothered. They just don't want production to be interrupted.

I posted this in the other chicago thread. THe security gaurd on friday night was actually nice to us when he kicked us out. He told us take a walk and come back...

Im sure he was a dick back to the author of he article in question. He sounds a little prickish.

This is excellent. Thank you.

Imagine how annoying it must be for all the people making the film. I know people are within their rights to watch and stuff, but if they are being told to leave then it's for a reason.
AMEN

why did this happen? because someone is an idiot or what?

fact is that this guy doesnt know what was ffilmed exact.y he doesnt have the details.
maybe somoen saw him walking to the light guys and they thought that he was there to make problems.

why didnt he leave? why couldnt he left them alone to film this f... movie?

yeah I meant that WB will hire security regardless of whether or not certain crew members mind talking to fans. so you'll have instances where a costume guy is having a friendly chat with someone outside a trailer while two blocks away mean blinged-out thugs are trash talking to guys who *might* have a camera.

One of the kids recognized somebody on the set, and the three of them yelled across the street, to the set (on the other side of the next block), shouting over and over, trying to get the guy's attention.

Dumbasses.

Nice respect points he earned here.

There I was, watching the set, not making any noise, not taking any pictures, just enjoying myself, when this car comes ZOOMING at me from the other side of the structure. It was an attempt to intimidate me, by sending the car flying and slamming the brakes suddenly, less than six inches from my legs.

I've told my fair share of stories were a verb was used in the right spot to make something seem more exciting.

I wish there was footage of this, because this was a shining moment - I wasn't going to let these goons intimidate me. As the car approached, when I first noticed it, I turned my head to look at the driver for a brief second. It was halfway across the structure, showing no signs of slowing down, speeding towards me. And I just turned my head back and continued to watch the set.

Yeah... cause he was in the anti-battery zone which meant that no one could get any evidence.

I knew the car was about to hit me, but I didn't do anything - they knew and I knew, that if they hit me, their ass would be in a sling (even if I didn't do anything about it afterwards).

That tactic doesn't quite work well for deers.

Clearly, they were frustrated by my failure to react to their scare tactics. They got out of the car and waited, and I refused to acknowledge them. After a few more seconds, having realized that I wasn't going to give in to scare tactics or pay them any attention, they came right up to me and tried to get in my face.

Maybe if he had shown them a little respect by acknowledging them and paying them attention, he'd deserve that respect he talks about.

Now I'll forgive the guy for not knowing who I was and treating me as such - most of my work isn't in the Loop (my business usually takes me more often to the South Side, Hyde Park, and spots of the North side). So if he doesn't give me all the respect I deserve - so be it. But the complete lack of respect, and attempts to intimidate, were insulting - even to an average person.

:whatever:

I attempted to explain to him that it was a parking structure, and he had no business telling me where I could and could not be if I wasn't on the set. He argued back, and started to threaten physical violence. I'd stand up to the ****er in a fight, if I had to.

Good line. Adds some tough points for this guy and drama points for his story.

I also got a real good view of the ID badges the crew was wearing, so it should be easy for me to create a mock-up forgery, and walk right on the set.

Then he just asks to get the crap kicked out of himself the next time he goes back.

I think this guy is more full of it than those 'thugs'. The parts I left and the parts I bolded give you a nice picture of this guy on his soapbox with a stick up his ass.

And I will say this, those guards were out of line if they did half those things to someone just watching. The problem is with this guy, there could be more left out on what he was doing that might have invoked the wraith of the wanksters.

True, if he was on the set itself and asked to leave, then didn't, he's an idiot. If someones on an adjacent building and is asked to leave , security are the idiots, unless they're in the way of filming, then you're being an idiot to the crew.

also fact is that some drunk guys were making problems . so from now on they will all threat you like s.... why? because of some guys who you dont know.

Aww I wish the guards would have tasered him.

And then he got what he deserved, he sounds like a real arrogant prick.

Now I'll forgive the guy for not knowing who I was and treating me as such - most of my work isn't in the Loop (my business usually takes me more often to the South Side, Hyde Park, and spots of the North side). Yea. So far as we know though, no-one from here has embarrassed the crew, so we're on good ground. We can't be responsible for less respectful morons.

If there that concernerd with secrets then FILM IN A STUDIO. They chose to film at that location lol. They made a whole CAVE ina studio, I think they could make one level of a parking garage. Im sorry I dont want the production to be interrupted, but if someone agrees to travel more than 100 miles in order to check out the action from a safe distance they shouldnt be kicked out. Why are you guys so against the idea that the security might be a-holes? There should be no argument there

If everyone acted like they just wanted to sit and watch from a distance then it probably wouldn't be that big a deal.

But the fact remains there are a lot of assclowns that freak out at the idea of SEEING FAMOUS PEOPLE! And it's people like those kids that screamed across the city to get some actor's attention while they're trying to work that makes security really have to put down the iron fist.

''One of the kids recognized somebody on the set, and the three of them yelled across the street, to the set (on the other side of the next block), shouting over and over, trying to get the guy's attention.''

did this guy even read what he wrotte? it was obvious that this night they already had problems with people. so of course those black guys didnt knwo who he is. they thought this is again a guy who will make them problems.

Yeah he sounds like an idiot. Still dont think he deserved the threats though, IF they were in fact said

Well.....lets keep in mind why spoilers aren't looked upon as a good thing.

Spoilers from set reports = out of context + fanboys with irrational "what if" speculation leads to = OMG this movie is gonna suck cuz they're doing this = mom this movie is gonna suck because of this = mom talks to aunt shelly and her husband who see the bat-pod (and are prolly like "wtf") and mom mentions that "fanboy" (her son) who's a big fan of Batman says its not gonna be a good movie. Thus they won't go see the movie which lowers numbers.

Thats how the studio will see it. Word of mouth hurting them.

Nolan sees it as = this is my art. This is an experience I want the audience to have so they get their $9.50's worth.

We see it as = Hey! I like batman so you HAVE to tell me everything you're doing right now so it can have my approval because I know the character a lot and you have to make the movie MY way or else I'll say i won't go see it (which I'm only saying for theatrics and will see the movie anyway but I'll downtalk it alot)

And finally how the security gaurds see it = If I don't get these pesky people off the roof I'm getting fired. Thats food on my table gone cuz some jackass can't wait a couple more months to see some comic book movie. Oh yeah, and I'm bored/angry that I've been yelling at people all day because they won't just leave us be and do our jobs. *security gaurd watches Begins with a pen and pad*
(cue Bale): Theatricality and deception are powerful weapons Alfred. It's time my enemies share my dread.

And so the security gaurds bought a Begins soundtrack, played track 10 and pretended they were in the tumbler speeding away from the cops as they went towards the spectators.

Man I'm so bored right now.......lol

how good would it be if the thugs wore clown masks when they yelled at people?

If I were chief of security that's what I'd do, dress up everyone in a purple suit and a green wig to confuse people. OMG Joker! No wait...OMG Joker's over there!

Im sorry all, Im just in a bad mood right now. Im packing for college and am having to pack up all of my batman room and collection. No, not to go with me and sit in my dorm room, but to go sit in some storage garage for 4 years. Please feel my sorrow :)

these TDK reports are keeping me going lol

i wonder what this guy would do if nolan himself would ask him to leave.

you think he would told him that he can be there? bull.... i bet that he would listen to him and go.

I beg to differ.

lol I cant wait until they put the section on the special features TDK DVD titled "pesky chicago fans" lol. I think we've now caused enough drama for Chris and Emma to b**** about us for 30 minutes in a featurette :)
