Have you ever witnessed death, first hand?

There was one occasion that happened on a building site a few years ago. One of the joiners fell off a scaffold about thirty feet in the air. I was standing about fifteen feet away when he hit the ground. He survived for about one full minute, before he died. I have never heard someone scream that much in my life, ejecting blood from his mouth.

Yeah, my dad died right in front of me. Massive heart attack like a clap of thunder :down

*looks for upbeat thread*

I was in the Army, (pre 9-11) and I fired Stinger missiles through an Avenger weapon system. It's basically a big turret on the back of a Humvee. Anyway, I had to fire at a plane once. It was in South Korea. A small plane. I never knew how many were on board. Not a good feeling.

Like eggyman- *looks for upbeat thread*

A guy in the row behind me at a Giants game had a heart attack and died. The G-men were 4th and goal, the play went off and the crowd was screaming... and well, his daughter didn't stop screaming. :csad:

BTW, my sincerest condolences, Dew.

I was there when my mother breathed her last breath. She died from lung cancer. :(

That's so sad everybody.:csad: Luckily I haven't ever seen anyone die, but I'm young.

Seriously, not to take any of this lightly, but with the way the world is right now, and all the crap that is going on, why would you want to reflect on something like this?

I say animals count...the movie "All Dogs Go To Heaven" convinced me that they count.

that said, I held my cat in my arms when she died. She went limp for a minute...took one more gasp of breath and that was it.

It was one of the saddest and most surreal experiences I've had...just the notion of holding onto life and having it slip away the next instant.

Animal or Human it doesn't matter...experiencing that changes you as a person, whether you want it to or not.

a calf just died in my kitchen. that made me sad.

im sorry for everyones losses.

sincerely.

This is the most depressing thread in the entire Hype universe. Does it really need to exist? Honestly?

^agreed. Also, Dew, that sucks so much. I didn't know that. :csad:

Do animals count?

Definitely.

In my line of work, I've held many an animal as they passed away. It's not something you'd get used to. I can't imagine how bad it would be to see another human, especially someone you know, die.

This is exactly how is see death, which is why it scares me, it's so unstable and unpredictable.

I once entered a funeral office to ask about permission to take landscape photos of the terrain next to the center. I just went to the main desk where there was a clerk to ask him, he took me through the hallway to get a better look at the field next door and while passing i saw a casket open with a man laying inside. I really wasn't expecting that...the door to that room should have been closed :csad:

It might be sad and a little scary to watch a loved one die as I have from cancer, but then, it must have been some comfort to my mom for us to be there when she passed. It's better to die with family than all alone. :)

That would scare me. :(

I was involved in a tank rollover during a training exercise in California. I was in the Gunner's hatch and one of my close friends, the TC, was in the main hatch when we drove into our position at a bad angle and rolled. He was crushed between the cover of the hatch and the side wall of the hole. The turret was turned in such a way that I was 6 inches above the hole when it happened. My head actually came to rest on the berm at the edge.

I couldn't be in one after that unless I was driving. I changed my MOS after that.
