Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

They must’ve liked what they saw, or at the very least thought it was worth putting money into.
Yea, it's a good sign. I'd like to know how much they gave him.

Very impressive move by the studio for letting this happen and honestly I do believe this will be a win win situation for everyone involved. Not only for the fans that have been clamoring for it, but I'm also pretty sure that this thing will make a lot of money on HBO Max giving them a much needed boost as far as awareness and content goes as well as establishing their place as a more than worthy competitor going up against other streaming services.

I like Snyder but I just don't care. The Utimate Cut of BvS still wasn't good to me and his overall vision for these characters hasn't shown itself to be for me despite thinking Man of Steel is pretty great as a starting point putting aside my issues with it. BvS is just....God, I hate it.

As long as its good.

They also need some original content exclusive to the streamer so this will definitely pique interest for some
We were talking about this in another thread and I really don't think it matters. They're already working on putting 50 shows out (at least before the virus)

And even if that fails they have so many exclusive things like Friends or Big Bang Theory or Fresh Prince that will bring plenty of people in. Especially when you consider people mostly rewatch shows they've seen before

Nah Entourage, as much as I loved it aged so poorly similar to Sex in the City. It wouldn't fare well today

Ehhhh about Entourage aging poorly. But I see what you mean.

I’ll give you Sex in the City. Never really was a fan but it always rubbed me the wrong way even in its original run.

In this era with how more cognizant we are of these things? Entourage aged very poorly.
The character of Ari Gold, who was a great performance and I love the character would not do well in this environment (on top of all the Jeremy Piven accusations). He's an abusive boss who reguarly uses homophobic, abusive, sexist, etc. language to berate people who are under him. With all that's happened with people talking about their sexists and otherwise mean bosses who majorly abused their power? Nah Ari isn't a good look. Even in the movie they had to tone him down.

The whole show just being "Rich People Problems" would get a fair amount if blow back. And how women are treated? All of them either ball busting "shrews" or just objects for the guys to gawk at or f***? I think I read somewhere that only 3-5 times in the whole series do women actually speak to each other in any meaningful way. Yeah it hasn't aged well at all.

I still love it. I used to rewatch it every summer and I still think season 2-5 are legit great TV. But looking at it now I can see the problems with it.

And even besides all that the premise is wore thin. They've said all they need to say with those characters and they're all almost 40 anyway.

Similar with Sex in the City. I've only seen part of the first movie and all of the 2nd movie, but it really is just the women version of Entourage (or Entourage is the male version of SitC) a bunch of rich people humping their way through the world (although I hear that they actually did some nice things with breast cancer awareness eventually). Ethnic people are a myth, all the gays are very campy. Neither aged well

A better move would've been/would be to bring back "How to Make it in America". That show was way ahead of it's time

Well something tells me whatever your opinion of Batman v Superman was will probably be the same for this

I’m okay with this considering I loved MOS and enjoyed BvS and liked the ultimate edition even more. I hated what they did to JL though.

Well, Director's Cuts HAVE happened before, LOL. Look at Blade Runner and Apocalypse Now, for example. But it's probably the first time it happened thanks to the push and support of the fans. I would love to see a Director's Cut of The Predator, which had a similar situation going on (of removing half the movie and replacing it with something completely different), even though in that case Shane Black stuck through the end. But unfortunately Black doesn't seem to have such a huge and compact fanbase.

I love someone like Matt Jarbo criticizing people who like Zack Snyder's work who aren't going to watch this because they didn't like BvS. I wonder if he was around saying Sucker Punch was a great movie when virtually everyone said it was garbage. Probably not.

The Donner Cut.....sooooo gooood.

I never liked the original Lester-helmed SII. People were singing its praise and when I sat down to watch it, I was like "This is what people were raving about?"

Even though it's a rough cut, the Donner version of SII is so much better. The extra Daily Planet footage alone (like Lois figuring out Clark's identity) alone make it worth it.

That would be Richard Donner’s Superman II. Unfortunately, he had to wait 30 years.
To be fair, unlike JL, Superman 2 was actually successful. This is the first time that a project that lost the studio millions is getting more millions put into it thanks largely due to loud fan support online. I’ve never seen anything like this before.
