I don't think Abe will need his respirator in this one - a whole new design. And, if you notice, he's wearing his gun, which he will, I can tell you now, get to use in the film.

Very good. You can also spot the back of Hellboy and the back of some critter, but you can't see enough of it to tell what he/she is supposed to be.
Roger would still require a lot of makeup and probably some CG afterwards and as I've stated before somewhere, Mike and GDT did try to write a story with Roger, but couldn't make it work. It's not like it's going to be that hard with Johann, all they have to do is digitally take the actor's head out in post.
When Doug plays Abe wearing nothing more than the bike shorts, it takes him 6-7 hours in the makeup chair. How in the world do you think a nearly naked homonculous wouldn't be spending just as much time, it not more, in that chair is beyond me.
He wore a bullet proof vest and that was it. I hardly call that 'quite clothed'.Dont make him nearly naked then. He was quite clothed in Conquerer Worm.
