HELP! My computer is frozen but won't shut down...help now please.

I was in Windows Movie Maker and I did something too fast and it all froze. This was about 45 minutes ago. Now it's frozen, it won't work, I tried shutting it down and restarting it from the Start menu but when I do, it doesn't do anything. It just sits there. I even had to leave the room for 15 minutes and when I came back it was still there with the "Shut Down" button pushed in.

I can't minimize the Movie Maker window either. I had to get to my internet through my Start menu. That's how I'm on right now.

Please help.

try going to task manager next time and shut the program down from there.
