I loved this show. Still own the TV movies and a few episodes on VHS. Cant get them on DVD here in UK. Does it still come on from where any of you guys are in the World?

But I recently ordered the DVDs from the US, so hope to re-live "Hercules" in all its camp glory soon. I'm a bigger fan of "Xena: Warrior Princess", but Hercules is good for a lighter look at life in the Xena/Herc-verse.

Thats pretty crazy. They filmed the show in the country next to you and you don't even get it. Was it because of the violence? I know thats why you guys quit getting Power Rangers after its first few episodes.

Xena was more violent than Hercules...the last episode gives me chills. I heard that you can order the DVDs from the US,but you have something to play them? That will only work on NSTC components, I think I still have an old Action Replay disc that will play imported DVDs.

I really miss it. Good ol days. Still making it to try and visit where it was filmed,stunning scenery.

It's not shown in the U.S. anymore, along with Xena.
There was a time when it came on everyday on SciFi, but now they're too interested in airing crappy SyFy monster movies and disaster movies.
The DVD's are hard to find here, about the only place you can find them is online, or on Netflix. You can watch both series online on Netflix.

Hercules was great. Remember that time in the 90's when you had all these syndicated TV shows filmed all over the place. Hercules, Xena, Sinbad, Conan, Team Knight Rider, the list goes on, there was a glut of those shows then, some good, some pretty bad, but all of them on in a Saturday afternoon.

We used to have it on friday nights on channel 5. Perfect night. It started with WCW (remember that? Goldberg was my favourite wrestler,lol) then followed by Fort Boyad,Xena and then Hercules.

We still have the memories. What was your favourite episode of Hercules,guys? Can you remember any? Mine was the first appearance of Xena. Where she seduced Ioulas and turned him on Hercules.

I loved this show. Hard to pinpoint my favorite, but I loved the episode when Hercules visited the other side and saw his family while rescuing Persephone.

It was for their own good though,but poor Herc still remebered. Does anybody remember a few episodes where Hercules was trapped in an alternative world with everybody's dopplegangers and Ares sent Callisto back in time to kill Hercules's mother and Ioulas had to protect her?

i thought ioulas was the one trapped in that world, and Hercules was a bad guy named the soveriegn. Also Bruce Campbell was the king of thieves in this series

Ares's doppelganger was actually the God of Love in that world Hercules was married to Xena,I think and Ioulas was a jester,lol. The real Ioulas made it back along with his doppelganger,but Hercules and his doppelganger got stuck between worlds. Ares then sought Calisto and sent her back in the past to kill Hercules's mother, I cant remember how Ioulas got there.

He was in the 5 TV movies. The Amazon Women. The Lost City. The Circle of Fire, The Underlworld, and The Maze Of The Minotaur.

I own 4 of those. I lost The Amazon Women.

I loved this show as a kid man. More so than Xena. Hell I even liked Young hercules.

I meant it is no longer shown down under (to my knowledge). Channel 10 screened the first ... maybe three or four seasons. I don't remember them screening the final few seasons, but they could have shown them at 3:00am in the morning like they ended up doing with Xena and I just missed them.

I don't think they stopped showing it because of violence concerns, but that could have been the reason. Channel 10 had no issues with hacking episodes to bits when it came to "violence". The atrocities they committed against some of the Xena episodes were terrible and they continue their mutilations today with shows like Merlin (the BBC series) where a scene will be mid-fight and then suddenly people will be talking like the fight was one and you just have to fill in the blanks that the bad guy got stabbed or whatever.

Still waiting on my DVDs from Evil-Bay. Looks like another dodgy transaction, although the seller's feedback was massive and positive. If all else fails, they're FINALLY starting to release the DVDs locally, although each season is $60.00!

There were actually multiple episodes of the mirror universe. The first was where our Ioulas got trapped in the mirror universe and helped the leader of the rebels, Joxer, defeat The Soveriegn (Hercules). The Soveriegn was poisoning Zeus with hynde's blood in order to take over Olympus, and thatr was causing our Zeus to slowly die as well. And he wasn't married to Xena, he was just boning her. He was actually going to marry Aphrodite in order to solidify his position as King Of Olympus (I think he was planning on killing her after their wedding night as well).

In another episode, both our Hercules and his doppleganger were trapped in between the two worlds. Then the evil god that impregnated Gabrielle, Dahok (spelling?) sends Calisto back in time to kill Hercules' mother when she's still pregnant, thus killing Hercules. Ares sends Ioulas back in time to try to stop her. He fails and follows Calisto to her reward, the chance to stop Xena from destroying her village and killing her family. Then he returns to a present where Xena had conquered all of Greece, as well as Rome, and is now a cruel and heartless emperess. Ioulas then uses the magic gem on top of Xena's royal scepter to travel back in time and give it another try. This time he does save Hecules' mother, and in the process Hercules as well.

There was a third episode with the mirror universe, but I think it was a Xena episode not a Hercules one.

I miss all these shows. Hercules, Xena, Conan, etc. Space used to show them in reruns every day. Now almost all they show is Stargate. Preactically every time I tune in to Channel 45 all I see is Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, etc, etc. It's no longer The Imagination Station. Now it's The All Things Stargate Station. I also want to point out that here in Canada, you can get the complete series of both Hercules and Xena in two big box sets (one for each show) and they're available in stores. For those of you not lucky enough to live here in The Great White North, I suggest you plan a trip and come to visit. You should be able to find these box sets at HMV or Future Shop.

Hercules and Xena were so fun to watch. You can stream them with Netflix now. I re-watched the first season of Hercules just the other day actually. Sam Raimi was executive producer and his brother Ted played one of my favorite characters, Joxer the Mighty.

I preferred Hercules to Xena because he actually fought Monsters. With Xena it was always Warlords 'n crap.

OMG remember the commercial for the toys? "He's Hercules! A Tower of Power, he's Hercules!"

In the words of TPTB, Xena fought a monster every week. That monster was herself (given the fact she spent 10 years as the "Destroyer of Nations" bringing death and destruction to most of the known continents of the ancient world).

The "warlord of the week" formula pretty much died after the second season. Xena went on to fight plenty of monsters, but not on a weekly basis like Hercules.
