Hey,

Who all is attending the Heroes Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina? I'll be there!

~Wade

Hey wade, I'm going to be there. Just purchased my ticket this weekend. Too late to purchase for myself, but I got it at least. You see we're getting that Darwyn Cooke art?

How's it going Metropolis Man? Darwyn Cooke of The New Frontier, right? How so? If true, awesome! Maybe I'll bump into you there?

Any other SHH members going to show up for HEROES CON?

~Wade

Going! I'll be there all three days if anyone runs in to me. I'll have this tattoo on the back of my leg, so I'm pretty easy to spot if you're looking at me from behind:

I'd just like to meet someone from the SHH boards, cause I never have before and... That's basically it. I have waaaaay too much to get signed and I'm a bit frazzled at the moment. Sorry :csad:

I'll probably have a big black suit case trailing behind me as well.

OH! And I forgot to answer your question, though I wasn't really the one being asked. The Darwyn Cooke art he was talking about was a free print you get for pre-registering. They just give out specially numbered prints every year and a lanyard with a picture on the pass (different pictures depending on whether your a guest or work there or what not) when you pre-register.

Thats correct zahanbil. This will be only my third year going, so I'm really looking forwar to it. The first time I went, I was alone because no one could go. Second time, had a friend with me two days, and bought about 5 Doc Savage novels. Now my fiancee will be joining me this year. really looking forward to it. Tomorrow! I'll look out for you all there. Enjoy.

Hey everyone,

If yall want to get together tommorow, the last day of the convention, I'll be in a brown hat and glasses. I'll probably be hanging out at table A-119 drawing with my buds. Take care.

~Wade

A-119. Got it. I was over that way today looking for Darwyn Cooke but I heard he was out for lunch at the time.

Wade: I am SO sorry I didn't come back over! I totally forgot with all the signing I still had to get done. It was wonderful to meet you how ever brief it was! I wish you would have stayed around and saved me from the guy I was standing behind in line for Cooke.

Any stories, fellas!?

I went friday. I love this con. Got alot of great stuff. Really enjoyed seeing the TMNT group.

Zahanbil, It's all good. As for the creep in the line, I had no clue! It seemed to me that you were enjoying yourself. No doubt, while it was brief, it was great to meet a fellow Hype member! You were the only one I actually met. I was drawing, sitting at the table next to Giordano and I spotted your tattoo and was like, "Wait a minute, I recognize that from somewhere." lol

For those who missed the activities, I have a huge collection of photos from the three day event. I'll post them in the next day or so. It truly was a great convention for artists and art collectors. I'll be back next year!

~Wade

Metropolis Man also took a large amount of photos that I will feature on My Blog as well as this thread.

The guy I was talking to the first time I met you was really nice, but the guy in front of me in the Cooke line was... I dunno. First he asked me if I was standing in line for Cooke and I was like "Yep! This is the Cooke line!" and so he starts talking to me and just skips line. I didn't really know what to say. He was also kind of a big liar and was trying to bargain with Cooke to pay him a ton of money to draw his kids. Cooke was getting pissy.

I can't wait to see your guys pictures! I have like... One picture. I forgot my camera, but I had a camera phone. The only picture I have is a picture of my boobs, cause I made friends with Tommy Castillo and his fiance. He's one of my favorite Detective Comic artist so he drew the Joker on my boob. I got lots of pictures taken OF me, but I didn't get to take pictures of anyone else... I was too busy to do it anyways I suppose...

Awesome album! That Harley and Joker couple were like the nicest people ever! I don't know if you saw the other guy dressed as Joker running around, but he was annoying as hell.

I'm glad you took pictures of the art auctioned pieces, cause I didn't get to see any of them!

That Iron Man, besides the gold part, was very impressive! Every time he got close my friend would freak out and either try to climb me or run.

Here's my album.

This was my first convention ever and had an amazing time. Not only did I bump into a bunch of awesome people, but was praised and greatly critiqued by some of the best artists there in regards to my artwork. Among those were Ron Wilson, Brian Stelfreeze, Dick Giordano, Colleen Doran, and several others. I'm thankful for their advice and apply each bit to what I do know.

Brian Stelfreeze and many other artists drew sketches for me. Once I get them scanned, I'll post them here.

All the best,
Wade

P.S. Zahanbil, I'll be up again next year. Maybe then, we can talk more. lol

How did I miss that Wonder Woman? =o_O= Good god.

Infomercial man was frickin' ridiculous... My friend went up to him as he was trying to sell a book and just started doing his sales pitch right long with him. I'm not sure what happened after that, because I was paying attention to moving up in line with Cooke.

You got pictures of obnoxious Joker! Yay! I wanted to punch him in the nuts SO many times.

Yes, Wonder Woman was....wow, amazing. lol

Ya, Infomercial man was a joke. I checked out his book and sure, it looked like it might've been a good story, but the artwork was terrible. He was trying too hard to sell a graphic novel that no one seemed very interested in.

It was funny that there were two Jokers at the con who nearly looked identical. The less obnoxious duo were pretty cool kids.

Yes, a whole year before the next one. I'm already looking forward to it.

~Wade

I remember the guy selling the GN. Man he was annoying. Anyone else see the black joker?

I saw him all three days I believe. I wasn't impressed.

I didn't like his make-up job... It was very... Chunky.
