there have been so many kooky ones like Thrillkiller,Scar of the Bat and ofcourse the ever popular Batman vs Dracula books....but I really love
Gotham by Gaslight.

there are SO many crazy variations of Batman!
the batman of arkham, the blue, the grey and the bat,Detective #27...
just trying to categorize and explain them all would be a huge thread in its own...

Gotham By Gaslight followed by the Vampire saga but I'm also partial to In Darkest Night.

Out of what I've read, probably Batman from JSA: The Liberty Files.

Dark Allegiances is another favorite of mine.

Batman: Nine Lives. I also loved the Batman that was in Red Son.

I really liked how Batman was represented in "Kingdom Come".

man I was kinda pissed about how Batman/Bruce ended up in Kingdom Come, his mansion destroyed ( not bad) living in the cave sending out batbots to clean up the city.
atleast he finally suited up near the end. However the scene where he's talking to Superman than looks back to see Supes already gone and makes the comment , "So, thats what that feels like" is HILARIOUS.

Gotham By Gaslight, The Doom that Came to Gotham.

ooh the Doom that came to Gotham? never heard of that one, it sounds very intriguing...

I guess I'm the first one to say All-Star/Millerverse Bats

Mike Mignola story throwing Batman into the world of H.P. Lovecraft. I've only seen the Mignola drawn covers(he doesn't do the interior work), and they look awesome. As for the story, i don't know if it's good or not, but it's Mignola so i can only assume it's awesome.

elseworld batmen i like:
Gotham By Gaslight
JSA: Liberty Files
The Batman of Arkham is pretty cool.
Batman: Nosferatu has a killer looking Batman too.

can anyone post the Batman from "Nine Lives"? I've seen some of Michael Lark's art, and really like it, but i want to see what his Batman looks like, as well as the art of his in that book. I plan to get it Wednesday without any doubts.

I have only read Detective 27, and Kingdom Come. It's so awesome how Batman returns in KC. Also, final scene is hilarious.

I like that Batman is one of the only original heroes, along with the Flash and I guess Hawkman, to not limp off and sulk somewhere because Superman ran away from the world. Also, an old Bruce Wayne punching the man previously assumed to be Earth's Mightiest Mortal, followed up by a simple "Hello, Billy"... I really liked that. Liked the final scene as well: "You're pregnant" (doesn't even look up from his steak).

What's the one where Bruce Wayne is on his way to becoming a priest in some alternate America and he discovers his parents were killed by the government?

Holy Terror

You aren't the only one to say it, though! I like that Batman, too. I'm glad that's not how he normally is in the main comics, but I like seeing this style now and again.
