Highlander 5 : The source

The producers realize they suck at life and kill themselves by setting there houses on fire with all the evidence that they ever made a Highlander 5, quite sad really since they already master it for DVD and they're working on the tribute to there death features now :(

Thank you for the riveting info.

they need to drop the sequel idea completely and pull a Batman Begins. Just do a complete re-start. New actors, new everything, but keep the story.

:csad: hell no. Just...no.

I don't want a re-start only because, after 20 years, we are no closer to finding out the truth about the immortals now then we were then. I really want the braintrust of Highlander to start to cement the who what where & why about the immortals.

I think the new movie will try to explain that...it is called Highlander: The Source.

I do hope that is what this latest jaunt is.

Loved “Highlander”. I don’t know whether it was the music (by Queen), the cool character (Sean Connery as Ramirez!? Gold!; Clancy Brown as The Kurgan!? Double Gold!), or the proficient (not usually words associated with the guy) direction by Russell Mulcahy, but it was such a slick for its time. Heck, any time.
The sequels left a lot to be desired – especially the first one. I remember seeing it as a sports stadium, on the coast, that had been transformed into a movie theatre for the Summer holidays. Not that the small-ass screen or lacklustre projector helped any more, but the thing bored me to tears. It was incredible how much they ****ed it up.
And though the last two sequels were more endurable, more accomplished films – they still didn’t deliver anything other than a couple of good sword fights and some mildly amusing one-liners. And quite frankly, once Sean Connery left the series (after 2, and not surprisingly), there was no way for the series but down anyway.
While any other troupe would’ve cut their losses and sold the remake rights (still bound to happen sometime), the “Highlander” crowd is moving forward with sequel number four, “Highlander: The Source”. Judging by the C-list cast – Adrian Paul’s the headline act this time – it’s more than likely this thing will go straight to DVD.
Though there’s no official trailer for the film yet, there’s a fan-made trailer up at YouTube that shows some of the new footage that’s slowly being discovered across the web. See what you think.

Well, the new edit has been finished for some time. Below is a new trailer (seems like a promo for the festival it's at). Also, yeah, it cuts off at the end for no reason. You can see fan made trailers at Youtube. ( and music videos)

From what I understand, the next cut of the film has been substantially modified. There will be a lot of different things that will show it in another light. Dialogue removed and replaced. Scenes cut a different way. Some of the effects have been added and changed. However, I can tell you that there will not be any scenes that have been reshot.

Having seen the cut that was released officially in Russia on the net (streaming online), I believe the movie can be improved by editing...but there are still quite a few plot holes that can't be explained due to the quality of the script.

I've seen the Russian cut and it was dreadful. I don't know if this movie can be easily improved, but I do know this...

... I just watched Highlander: The Search for Vengeance and it was OUTSTANDING.

Well, it's been confirmed on the official highlander board that...

New voice over intro and ending by Anna and less lines from the Guardian and some improved special effects. These are the major changes.

This is in fact the worst Highlander film ever. Makes no sense and the acting and action sequences look like crap. Even the Queen song was ruined by some other singer.

I've heard that it's going to show on Sci-Fi channel in Sept. I've also heard nothing but bad news about this movie. The TV series I loved, why can't they make a friggin good movie?

Airs Sept 15th at 9pm on Sci-Fi. This will be the new cut that will be shown.

Ok, it was up there. Interesting to note that Lionsgate seems to dump some movies to Sci-Fi as so-called tv flicks.

Man-Thing (failed theater release)
House of the Dead 2 (R-rated net trailer said 'Coming Soon To Theaters'...but probably was going to be DTV before airing on tv instead)

Minotaur (probably DTV before airing on tv)
Stir of Echoes 2: The Homecoming (Either was goign to be in theaters or DTV)

Highlander: The Source (Was made with theaters in mind, but DTV was more likely)

Also, Sci-fi will show two 'Original Movies' in two days. One on Sat and one on Sun.
