Highlander 5 : The source

Instead of making a trilogy they should've just made another season, where they could've shown the events of Endgame as well, in a two-parter, to show what happened to Connor.

They could have, and should have, if you ask me. But Adrien Paul was getting tired of the character after six seasons and not getting other work so he thought if he took a break more things would open up. Funny though he just kind of disappeared.

Now he's back with the movies and making a big deal about how he should have say since he knows the character best. I grant he probably does but when your a prick like that it hurts your relations with the fan base.

I guess my point is Highlander wont go away tell the actors who have anything to do with it disappear.

the sixth season was really mediocre. And the major reason was that Duncan was only in few episodes. Was there a conflict between Adrian Paul and Panzer / Davis ?

I have also heard that Adrian Paul was pissed by Dimension Film attitude during " endgame ". He said he will never return as Duncan excepts if they give him more control on Highlander 5.
Now Dimension Film has gone and he is producer.

what they should have done with the series was make adrian Paul's character Connor MacLeod, set it all before the film and have done with it. after it had done all its seasons, any movies should have been considered prequel as well. then thye might have had some decent continuity.

That's a very good idea. It would really help if the people behind these projects were fans. If they are, they sure don't show it sometimes.

I liked the fact he wasn't Conner. The only one who could play Conner was Lambert and he was pissed they killed him off. But when he was talking on the dvd extras to endgame he told the producers and writers, "We've changed continuity before. Plus there are those 10 years before endgame."

SYNOPSIS

The world is falling into chaos. As he roams a crumbling city, Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander, remembers happier times before the love of his life left... Hopeless and alone, MacLeod finds his way to a band of immortal companions, including his mysterious friend Methos, and a mortal, Watcher Joe Dawson. Together this small group sets out on a quest to find the origin of the first Immortal and The Source of their immortality

The premis doesn't sound so bad it's just how it's going to be handled. I mean if they plan a trillogy that means for good or bad they need to follow through with the other two. Nothing it worse then getting one movie of a "Trillogy".

Unbreakable is an example that comes to mind. It still pisses me off we didn't get anymore in that series.

The first of three new "Highlander" films.

The long-in-the-works "Highlander : The Source" begins filming next week, and AdrianPaul.net has the word on who'll be sharing the screen with headliner, Adrian Paul.

Jim Byrnes, Peter Wingfield, Cristian Solimeno, Thom Fell, Stephen Rahman Hughes and Stephen Wight will co-star in the film, directed by Brett Leonard,
which is rumoured to be going straight to DVD next year.

The film, shooting in Lithuania, is believed to be the first of three new "Highlander" films.

Also in the works, an animated "Highlander" film.

Connor is suppose to be Immortal...and Lambert is looking too old
I agree, however, it's been what... 10 yrs since the series ended? Adrian's gotta be getting up there in years too, but Lambert... oy. He doesn't doesn't really look much like he did when the first movie was made. Time's been good to him, but he can't play Connor anymore. I'm still very skeptical about this film though. I loved the series (have them all on DVD), but since the Renegade version of 2, the movies just haven't been very good.

Still, the premise sounds promising... and remember, this "source" is going to be THE oldest immortal. Any fan of the series remembers how cool it was to find out that Methos was one of the Horsemen. This guy's gotta be like the beginning of time type old.

And am I the only one, or does anyone else think that Adrian would be a good cast choice for Iron Man?

Key word is rumoured. I have heard nothing but this "report" that it is straight to dvd. Adriens diary from the set says no such thing and the highlander site it self doesn't say this. So untill it is released I'll hope for a theatrical release.

I thought it was just the animated movie that was going to be direct to DVD?

Yeah thats what i heard too. But Peton keeps insisting the Source is a straight to DVD movie also. That's not what I heard and I'll believe it when the Highlander site or a more reliable source says so.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was 100% correct D. Rockwell. Its just when I read that on Adrian's site, I thought it was gospel as to how it was going to be released.

i am sorry also, I do not mean to sound as a jerk. It's just everything I've read and tried to stay up to date with has not mintioned this. Again I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be a jerk.

Then why not have Thomas Jane take his place? He already looks like him.
