This album is better than Illmatic. The Son of God single handidly ressurrected Hip Hop with one cd. Track #3, #15, #10 are the best--and that's how I would rank 'em.

This is probably the best production from Nas's entire career, but lyrically his worst compared to others.

I still listen to Stillmatic but this is one of the many albums on my list!!

 are you serious? The beats on this album are average at best. Lyricly he's as good as ever but the overdose of wack beats kinda ruins it for me. Better than Illmatic!? Hahahah you're funny, i like that.

Go listen to your Neptunes, child.

You don't know what Hip Hop is. :)

Who says my name's got anything to do with the Neptunes and i definitely know what hiphop is i just don't agree with that bold statement. Illmatic is a hiphop classic!

It's good but it isn't near illmatic. Oh, and prepare to be flamed. Should of put it in the rap fans thread.

Yeah, but you're going to have 3 serious posts followed by "duh, raps crap" jokes.:cwink:

Cos we can never get rid of those entertaining posts!

So is Hip Hop dead or alive?

Personally, I believe it is dead with all my heart.

Commercially, maybe. Too much talk about grills and rims.

I agree 100% Hip-Hop/Rap is only dead commerically. If you walk into your local night club you'll find plenty of talented performers.

Have you ever heard of One.Be.Lo? He rapes Immortal Technique up the ass, lyrically.

Here's his myspace:

Yes, I have. He's good! And, he has more of a chance of making it mainstream. But, if you follow underground rap then why do you question whether its dead or alive. There's always an underground performer to keep it alive. The mainstream will usually disappoint you, so you have to stick to the underground stuff sometimes.

Its like heavy metal back in the `80s. All those hair bands were killing it in the mainstream but Metallica was keeping it alive in the underground.
