In the 70's movies had become too drab, it took George Lucas's StarWars to turn things around. Lately it feels like it's happening again.

They keep trying to stick reality into Comic Book and Fantasy films, and they are ruining them by doing so.

If only they could stop these dull filmmakers from doing that, and only hire the right directors to make Fantasy and Superhero movies.

I am so tired dumb excuses for not doing certain things from lazy people with no imagination.

Like not wanting to give the Superheroes and Villians the right costumes or any at all, it is so stupid to hear, oh fans won't like that, and I'm like What?!, ofcourse they want that, that's how they dress, it is a comic book brought to life, after making the Lord of the Rings, a book thought to be unfilmable, there are no excuses! It just depends on the person making the movie.

When they try to do theri own thing with the look it ends up being stupid, like Dr. Doom, he looked lame in part 1, but in 2 they had him in a beautiful costume that looked more like the comics' suit, and it looked better and worked better. It really brought the character to life, you take these characters too far away from what and who they are then it's not them and then what is the point, just might as well do something else.

The X-men movies were ruined by Bryan Singer who doesn't respect the fans or the books. The characters were almost unrecognisable.

The only good things I've seen are those which have stayed faithful, like Harry Potter and Spider-Man. When you have a faithful movie to the source material it is more successful and loved more than the others.

And it is not about the general public, I have had so many non fans say to me, Why didn't this character or that one wear a costume or do a certain thing it's a Comic Book, shouldn't they look like this or that or do a certain thing?, They know, they know it's a comic book they expect them to wear costumes and be larger than life, 'cause that is the point.

If I want to see realism I'll watch the news, I go to see these films to see something I don't see everyday, like Frank Miller said, "I don't wanna' see Superman with sweat patches under his arms, I wanna' see him fly."

It's true.

It's all the filmmakers fault.

Sam Raimi and the director of Hellboy and Pan's Labrynth have done agreat job with their films, they should keep directors like these doing these types of movies, and stay away from people like Christopher Nolan, and Bryan Singer.

You lost me when you nulled Christopher Nolan in with Bryan Singer. :o

why should he respect the fans? does he know them?

respect. what respect? because 40% of them are childish and writte stuff like : bay you destroyed my live because optimus prime has flames?

your post is one of the reasons why directors laugh at those kind of comic fans.

my opinion of course :o

Seriously, true X-Men suits would look cheesy on big screen :down Singer made right decission

hey, guess what? when "hollywood" spends $200 million on a comic book movie, they don't do it for the few people that read that comic, because it'd never make it's money back.

they make them for the "general audience". if they didn't adapt certain things, they'd almost never get made, and when they did, they'd be with such minimal budgets, they'd suck in a lot of other ways.

grow up.

comics are also trying to input reality into 'em.... so dont blame hollywood.

bashing singer and nolan will get you nowhere.... they created faithful ADAPTATIONS.
