There are somethings I still don't get in some comic book movies.

Like Bryan Singer's lack of imagination.

Iceman should have had better and longer iced up scenes in the
X-movies.

Just like it's cool to see Spidey web slinging, and Johnny Storm flame on and fly, well it would've been great to see Iceman use his ice-slides.

I have had it with the reality B.S. in COMIC BOOK MOVIES, they are FANTASY.

And it's a shame when some jerk wants to take a great escape from reality and ground it into crap.

I love Marvel movies, but certain things need to be fixed. Remake Daredevil for one. That was a shame. And that's another thing. No more changing races. Kingpin is white, Alicia is white. I don't see Blade being played by Ben Affleck. And NO, it is NOT racist. But it is wrong to take a character that is so well known for so long, and when it is time to bring him or her to life, they don't 'cause they change it so much that it's no longer that character. KP wasn't even KP, he was all wrong.

Just like Bullseye, that was horrible, no costume, he was totally not himself.

People are complaining about Ghostrider, well that is dumb!!! GR was great, would've liked to have seen Blackheart a bit more like himself but still cool, but at least GR looked like GR and not just Cage with Flame throwing powers from his hands or something like that which Singer would do.

Filmmakers, if you don't get comics, don't make them into movies. I have loved these heroes and villians for years, I want to see them come to life, not your idea of them, they've done just fine on their own all these years.

I completely agree about the reality statement. I hate when the filmmakers say they're going to ground it in reality. But none of them had less imagination than Singer's X-films. They were cool when they were around, now I find them to be a complete borefest. Seriously, how the f*** can you ground a story about mutants into reality!?! I thought X3 had a great amount of imagination, it just suffered in story and running time.

X-Men and Daredevil both need be recreated.

Considering the fact that X-Men was created as an allegory for the issues of civil rights and racism in the 60s, I'd say grounding it in reality was absolutely necessary.

The difference is, there are less characters in those other films. The first X-Men only had a 75 million dollar budget. And in a film like X3, with a dozen major characters, most of them needing considerable special effects work, do you know what the budget would be to focus more on Iceman as a completely CG character? FOX already paid double to get X3 done by May of last year to beat Superman Returns to theaters. I know you all want to see these big elaborate effects, but these movies are expensive enough.

You can enjoy Ghost Rider if you want, but cool effects and faithfully looking like the character doesn't excuse the deplorable acting of virtually ever cast member with the exception of Sam Elliot, a plot that just doesn't make a lick of sense, to say nothing of how easily every member of the Hidden was dispatched by Ghost Rider.

Gressle= "I'ma hit GR wit this here truck! Yee-haw! Aw schucks, he ain't dead. I betta WALK, NOT RUN in the opposite direction. But oh no, he done lassoed me with his hellfire chain and now I'm a pile o' rocks!"

Abicore= "I'ma push GR ONCE, then float in front of him while he spins his fiery chain like a fan, again wit' that dang chain, and blows me away!

Wallow= "I'ma grab Johnny Blaze, but I can't do nothing but hold him underwater, until he turns into GR and evaporates me with his hellfire!

Seriously, did these putzes ever even use whatever powers you'd think they'd have? I guess that's why they're the hidden, they're punk *****es who CAN'T FIGHT!

Besides changing their races, how different were KP and Alicia from their comic counterparts. KP was still a ruthless businessman and crimelord, and whereas most fans casting ideas were limited to fat blubbery white actors or monosyllabic wrestlers, Michael Clarke Duncan had the benefit of being a proven actor that could potray Kingpin as the articulate businessman he is, and the physique to portray him as a large yet agile and quick fighter that's always been able to take Daredevil to task. In the case of Alicia in Fantastic Four, she's still blind, and she still becomes romantically involved with The Thing. What? Her whole deal with her step-father being the Puppet Master? It shouldn't define her as her own character, and it didn't need to be introduced in a film that's already got to deal with the four discovering their powers, and having to fight Dr. Doom.

Because he was black?

well said morgoth well said indeed:ninja:

Singer didn't lack imagination. He lacked budget.

I do disagree on the Kingpin part.

Who else could they have cast? Big Show? I thought about him but he sounds like a caveman and he has no acting experience. Sometimes changing the race is for the better. If there was a white guy the size of MCD who was also a good actor, I'm sure he would have gotten the part. But none such men existed.

MCD rocks as Kingpin.

Oh, I think you're racist to nag about it. Deny all you can.

MCD didn't hurt KP. It wasn't like he made him a gansta instead of a mob boss.

Now if they made Spidey a black man it would have made a huge difference. He'd be able to jump even higher.

But for real, you have to understand that, while advanced, there are still limitation on what cgi can do and not look like a cartoon. Look and the Neo vs Smith battle in Reloaded. There are times during that fight that it might has well have been a toon.
And there are costs to consider.
