Beast and Blob and the Danger Room were part of the original script? How so?

Yes. Beast was the X-Men's scientist, with Jean his assistant. Blob was one of the Brotherhood, instead of Sabretooth i think. As the mutated Senator Kelly escaped and they tried to stop him, Kelly 'stung' Blob like a jellyfish to get away (though he died without swimming away). Wolverine was in the Danger Room and had a berserker rage in there.

Rogue was already with the X-Men, and had defected from the Brotherhood. Magneto captured Wolverine to power the machine - adamantium was the only metal that would survive the energy of the machine (rather like tungsten being used in lightbulb filaments because it has the highest melting point of any real-world metal).

Rogue defeated Magneto. She knocked out Mystique, stole her morphing power, disguised herself as Mystique and then touched Magneto to zap him.

Storm still didn't have much of a role in the original script, sadly.

Marrow? Where was she supposed to be? Husk was supposed to appear? Toad was supposed to return?

When Cerebro attacked mutants, we were to see three cameos - Gambit's cards fizzed with energy, Marrow grew bone protrusions, and the Beast we earlier saw on TV grew blue fur.

Husk was to have been in the mansion during the raid. Soldiers grabbed her and she shed her skin and ran off!

Toad was a prisoner in Stryker's dam, along with Angel/Archangel. Toad and Nightcrawler had a huge aerial battle as Nightcrawler rescued the kids from cages hanging from the ceiling. Nightcrawler ended up transporting Toad into a cage that crashed to the ground, then teleporting out, so that Toad was smashed to bits as the cage hit the floor!

I wouldn't like Toad coming back, it would make Storm's attack less effective...also, in the X2 script, she's defeated by him horrendously easily, I hate that. Storm, losing twice for Toad? no, no, no...I like that she killed him in X1...
but the Husk thing would be awesome, she has a very graphic power...

As for Rogue, I would love to see her more sassy and kissing Magneto as Mystique, I read the script and it seems nice. The only down point is that she appears almost in the middle of the movie, (her first scene is the train thing, right?) not having such an important part as she did in the final version...

There are VFX students in my school who can do a Phoenix effect in Maya or After Effects in a week.

W/e you believe what you want since you know so much.

Hell i did it once as a project. It doesn't take as long to render on it's own it can then be composited onto the actual footage.

I agree.

Of all those things, the one I'd most like to see would be the three Cerebro cameos - Gambit, Beast going furry, Marrow. And the Husk cameo too would be excellent.

Also, instead of Jones switching TV channels i'd liked to have seen Wolfsbane. 'I don't sleep at night, especially not when it's a full moon.'

Storm still didn't have much of a role in the original script, sadly.

There's a shocker. Seriously, why was she even in these movies. She had no character specfic plot. Any one could have easily done anything she did, even the missiles in X2. Why didn't they kill her off in one of the previous movies or just not have her in it. Instead of having a pointless empty character. God, its so embrassing seeing all the previous scripts. None of those professional writers could think of anything remotely close to her source material. W/E I am so done with this ****.


I saw the storyboards and I'm not suprised or disappointed. Those effects would have taken a long time, money, and effort. Things that no one was willing to pull the strings to have happen.

That's fine!!! I'm looking foward to it....I wonder if I could also see the house scene with the fiery effect....but for now I will wait for this one....

Pyro was originally supposed to be a baddie in X-Men as well... he was killed, I think, my Jean who TK'd fire extinguishers at him in the original script.

yeah i hear ya, but if they took out the character all together there would be all of these fan boys upset. certain amount of fans would always be upset. while its that theyre not in the film or that they didnt get enough scene time. i bet if x3 did add gambit. fans would still be all have their panties in a bunch cause it wasnt a bigger role and not see past that not everyone can get a big role

good point.......They just need to put it this way: he's trying to get close to her.....but her power is too much to handle, so he's launch away, while his body is democularizing, then he fell to a building, unconcious...... no more powerfull wolvie...

personally I'm glad it was just alcatraz she was pulling apart. If it was the entire area of San Francisco, I think logically her power would have umped tremendously, where at Alcatraz, she was JUST starting to lose contol of her power. It's cooler, visually, anyway. Hey, at least it doesn't take place in Washington, DC rofl

Pheonix Destroying San fran was cool....If they had that type of destruction it would of made the whole X-men going up against Pheonix!!!!...instead of just Wolverine vs Pheonix crap.......It was suppose to be the whole team battling Pheonix not just one person..but it has to be a Wolverine I guess

If the whole team were against Phoenix most if not all of them would be killed, hence why Wolverine was the ONLY one to destroy her, which actually makes sense logically and emotionally. But logically, Kitty probably could have helped, as long as she kept her self in phased mode. Other than than that I don't think anhyone else could...except maybe Colossus...I dunno

yeah Pheonix powers and storyline was just made to revolve around Wolverine that just basically the whole point.....I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more X-men die trying to save the world

I'm still ticked off it wasn't the main storyline...the cure stuff, though important to the X-world, wasn't needed. Singer foreshadowed Phoenix's coming in the first and second film, the third needed to revolve around Dark Phoenix, be all and end all. THe only reason I like the third film is because of the phoenix storyline, and Famke's performance.

• Where the scenes in the script or were they just ideas?

What would have been Phoenix's motivation for destroying San Francisco?

Where would she have been up till then? Does this mean the story had her as a solo operative and not with Magneto?

Why did she decide to go to Alcatraz in the storyboard version?

If she'd done all that to SF, it would never have been feasible or believable that anyone could have stopped her, including Wolverine. She'd have had to have sacrificed herself... which is rather like the end of X2.

I wish we could see the original script to see how it was originally planned to happen.
