how do you take a screen cap of somthing on your pc?

Such as a website of somthing. i keep hitting the prtscn key but nothing seems to happen? and if something is happening where would the picture be located??

You can't just tap "printscreen" key. It only allows you to copy the image. You then go onto paint or photoshop and paste it. however, the whole page is copied so you have to crop out the image you want only shown.
