How long do you think the movie will be and how many battles will be in it?

Well I wanted to know how long did you guys think this movie's gonna be? I ahven't read the GN yet so I don't have an idea of how long it could be. From the trailer it looks like very epic in nature so I hope that if the story's good we get a 2 1/2 hour 300 movie,btw excuse my ignorance but how many battles are in the graphic novel?

Well, it's technically only one battle over the course of a few days. The graphic novel is actually pretty short. I think it'll be around 2 hours.

Oh I see, So is all the story a huge build-up to the big battle?

No, that's why the book is so short. All it is is a giant battle. There isn't really that much story in Miller's 300, just a lot of blood.

I imagine they'd have some minimal set-up as to why they're fighting and then move into the kick assery. We know from the video blog/featurette thing that they had several stages of armor degeneration and wear so we're going to see a lot of fighting I'd imagine.

I'm actually relieved to hear this. I'm tired of movies being 2 1/2 hours just for the sake of it. Sure, some movies need that time and more to tell their story, but 300 is pretty simplistic and 1 hr 45 min should be enough time.

no. i will not stand for this. i love movies that are long. i dont want to pay 11 bucks and sit in a theatre for an hour and a half. i want this film to be atleast 2 hours and 10 minutes. atleast. ii want my moneys worth. if its 1h 45m, then it better be one hell of an hour and 45 minutes.

Well thats dissapointing. But who knows how it will turn out. At its worst it will still be an awesom action movie.
