hopefully, the reason is i really like japanese anime and i read manga comics and i just like the culture. so i think it would be cooler to undertand it better when i go to japan next year.

It's actually a lot more simple than people think. It's certainly more simple than the other Asian languages. The thing that people tend to have trouble with is Kanji, the more intricate symbols.

You don't have to write with those intricate symbols, though...they use two syllabaries as a form of, "alphabet," that can be used to express most if not all Japanese words.
