I was wondering how much Routh is pulling down for playing the man of steel. If I'm not mistaken Maguire got 5 million for his first time outta the gate as Spidey and 10 million for the second run. Seeing as though Superman is even more famous and iconic he's probably start off at like 7-10 million.

Does anybody know definitively how much ol'Routh is getting paid? Just interested. :supes:

100 Billion dollars *Puts pinky to the mouth*
Nah, i'd 7-10 is about right.

Haha.. he'll prolly make more than a certain wb tv soap star with mullet hair.

hahaha, Welling gets paid like 40k an episode...thats "WB Money" most big network stars make much more than the smallville gang. lol

Dude, there has to be a way to ask this question in one of the countless existing threads.

How much did he get paid? Not enough in my opinion. He erased the stain of Welling on my mind for two and a half hours. That's a f*****g miracle.

LOL
Welling isn't bad, but he's no Routh. Routh took the role and knocked it out of the ball park and back to Krypton.

remember Routh signed up for all 3 movies, so whatever they're paying him would probably still be cheaper versus hiring him for just one film.

i'm really curious how much he signed up for.....

wht if he said ok to $10M BUT FOR ALL 3 FILMS? how much would that suck? :p

but what really interests me if he had negotiated some kind of bonus if the movie is a hit, or some kind of percentage from the merchandise (like what Alec Guiness did with SW).

I say upwards of 20 million and there might be provision for him to make more or they by him out. As for his acting , the boy was ridge and stiff, and had few lines that should tell you something, he sucks.

I really don't think he got 20 million. Remember, he's a total newbie, and he doesn't have the kind of leverage power as say, Kevin Spacey, who could turn SR down and have something to eat. Brandon was working as a bartender approximately a year before filming - the guy was strapped for money. Since it's his first break (and what a huge break it is) I doubt he'd say no to anything Bryan Singer wanted to give him, even if he was the leading man. :p

Even so, I doubt he'll be strapped for cash anytime soon.

Far from stiff. He could use some work sure...but he defintitely didn't suck. Look again pal.

he was stiff, but then again he had like 15 line sin the flick maybe less,

Im gonna say Routh got about $2.5 million for this film, which Im sure he is grateful for considering he is a newb to the business. They weren't going to shell out the big bucks for Routh on his first true outing, remember Maguire had already been acting and was known for being good at his craft.

Where Routh will make the big bucks is the sequel money, that 2.5 figure will have a significant increase.

Oh, and the comment about Welling's salary. Both him and Rosenbaum make around $100,000 an episode, so if you add it up they both make around $ 2.2. million a season, so they would have made $11 million over the course of 5 seasons. It was Kreuk who got the shaft salary wise, seeing that she makes either $ 50,000 or $60,000 and episode!!!!!

I seen the movie, and Welling would have been better... :down:o

Routh is no Superman!

You people are way too f^cking hard on Tom Welling here. Keep in mind that he doesn't write the words coming out of his mouth, and he always manages to pull a good performance out of his ass when needed!!!!

He made such good progress in season 4, and then Welling did the Fog. You really need to rebound from that one, Tom!!!!

I'd agree with that. I'm sure Singer was pretty set on Routh, but if Brandon was an ass (not to mention an idiot) and wanted more $$$, I'm sure Singer would have no problem finding another unknown looking for a big break for $2.5 million. That's not cheap change there.

$2.5 million isn't chump change, ecspecially for a guy who was bartending at the time!!!

The bulk of Brandon's dough will be made in the sequels, if there are any!!

I think Routh did a good job, especially being his first movie. Welling was also kind of rocky in his acting in the first season, though he is an excellent actor now.

Not trying to turn this thread into a pissing contest, but know this.....

Tom Welling DID beat out Brandon Routh for the role of Clark Kent in Smallville. So remember that before jumping Tom Welling's sh^t!!!!

Routh will make the big bucks if the franchise gets to S:4. That is if Singer doesn't sink it with an introduction of another kid, Krypto, and the Supes nipple suit.

I'm curious about this cause i remember that Warner Bros were so desperate to get Superman off the ground a one point (under Ratner or McG) that they offered Josh Hartnett a 3 picture 100 million dollar deal.
