Superman Returns How much Routh got paid?

I'm sure they gave him enough so he wouldn't screw them on movies after his contract. (SR 4+)

Im sure the money is gone now anyway, after spending money on that suit for the movie premiere. Buying fancy things for his "Girlfriend", and spending money like how other young actors do. I would say he better get back behind the bar real soon.
I actually hope not. He seems like a nice down-to-earth guy, still untainted by Hollywood. For the love of Pete, please let him stay that way. I've had enough of the young unknown actors who are sucked into the vortex that is the Hollywood party life once they hit it big(*coughHaydenChristensencough*).

considering Routh is a newcomer, and is not a big name and a virtual Unkown. He probbaly got 200 to 300 thousand for his role. Thats basically what ex-bartenders get in their first big flick these days. Im sure the money is gone now anyway, after spending money on that suit for the movie premiere. Buying fancy things for his "Girlfriend", and spending money like how other young actors do. I would say he better get back behind the bar real soon.
He atleast better sign up for another film, and since hes the new superman, he is gonna have to do only indie films. WB does not want him in Broke back moutain 2, or Sin city 2 if you know what i mean.
No way is routh getting less than a million (at the very least). The guy's image and name is been used to sell just about any product you can imagine.

Ya Brandon probably got quite a big salary.

WB certainly wasnt CHEAP with this film!

He wont. Listen to the guy in interviews. Hes like the embodiment of morality. Kinda lame...I know.. but hes so straight laced, I doubt that would happen.

He stays true to his small town roots.

I think Singer made another good choice. Brandon just comes off like someone you'd root for if you knew him...and I personally feel that's a major reason I liked his performance in SR.

Yes, I have a crush on Brandon Routh. :o

Don't Be Jealous.

How much did he get paid? Not enough in my opinion. He erased the stain of Welling on my mind for two and a half hours. That's a f*****g miracle.

Welling is a good guy....decent actor as well. I've see him nicely progress through the years. He isn't Beezlebum (sp) like some of you guys make him out to be..

Yes, I have a crush on Tom Welling. :o

uhm.... ok. you like guys who plays Superman. i get it :D

btw Kane, that's not really nice. most of the SV actors on vacation from the show let their hair down-- nearly literally. Rosenbaum doesnt look anything remotely Lex Luthor either.

i'm sorry, but i just got to say this....

i'm really getting pissed off tired with this whole SR vs SV sheit this has been dragging on for what... YEARS?..... since the casting days. people give it a rest! Welling is doing a spectacular job on SV and so is Routh as Superman. stop the piss ass contest and the one-upmanship and let bygones be bygones. geezus as Superfans you'd think you can act a little bit better

wht if he said ok to $10M BUT FOR ALL 3 FILMS? how much would that suck? :p

I'm curious about this cause i remember that Warner Bros were so desperate to get Superman off the ground a one point (under Ratner or McG) that they offered Josh Hartnett a 3 picture 100 million dollar deal.
I don't think it was quite that much. They offered him a lot, but not even close to 100 million. Thats a pretty big budget just for a movie.

Actually this very well might be the case. I remember in an interview that he really didn't get a whole lot for this movie. The big money comes later in the sequels.

Toby was paid 3 mil for Spider-Man 1 so take a guess...

He probably got paid anywhere from 1-3 million... Anywho looking back at some Smallville episodes lots of them seem stupid but I am a fan of the show, I like it and will continue to watch it. It seems as though Welling has been bulking up a bit in the past couple seasons at times he has looked a lot bigger then how he did before where he was mainly just a tall fairly skinny guy and not that much bulk.

Routh did a good job in Superman I think its funny Welling is like 29 and Routh is 24 seems like it should be the other way around. At times Routh looked a bit to young (especially the way Reeve and Kidder looked in comparison in the first film to him and Bosworth); it was good but I felt a little underwellmed by some stuff that kind of left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

Mainly some of the plot, lots of the stuff seemed to be taken directly from the original I liked the ocasional tip of the hat to the original some lines and what not but it didnt seem like that new of a movie because of it... then again its showing Superman to a new audience and maybe they are not expecting everyone to remember the original all just add it all up to a huge omage.

think Einstein, why sign for all 3 films and get $10M only when he could be making that much for just the second or third film alone if he plays his cards right?

I was wondering how much Routh is pulling down for playing the man of steel. If I'm not mistaken Maguire got 5 million for his first time outta the gate as Spidey and 10 million for the second run. Seeing as though Superman is even more famous and iconic he's probably start off at like 7-10 million.

Does anybody know definitively how much ol'Routh is getting paid? Just interested. :supes:

tobey got paid $4M for movie one. he was supposed to get the same amount for movie 2, but there was some renegotiation and it went up to $14M.

Jesus f^ck, looks like Welling has been living in the same tent as Ricky Williams did a few years ago, not to mention smoking weed and fulfilling his munchies with Kangaroo burgers!!!

I wonder if thats the look he will come back from the Phantom Zone with?

On a side note.....

Welling looks like he could beat the sh^t out of Routh. Tom just looks so much stronger. If Welling truly has one aspect over Routh, it's his body. That body is Superman. Thats a loose fitting t-shirt, but Tom's traps are almost to wide for it.

I seen the movie, and Welling would have been better... :down:o

why would any fan who actually knows superman compare welling and routh?

they're playing different characters.

Welling is playing Byrne's "Man of Steel" superman. Routh is playing Pre-Crisis Superman based on Donner/Reeves Superman

they're entirely different characters.

Byrne's man of steel is Clark Kent who puts on the Superman persona to protect those he loves from retibution. he is human first and his kryptonian legacy is something that does not define him. his power levels are dramatically reduced from previous incarnations. while his kryptonian legacy is a un-concievable "gift," he is in his heart human and krypton and his birth parents are depicted as basically foreign.

Donner's Pre-Crisis/Silver Age superman is a foreign being of almost infinite powers. clark kent is only a persona he puts on to "spy on" or interact with mortal humans. he is very much defined by his genetic makeup as the last kryptonian which alienates him from truly connecting with these mortals whom he's dedicated to protect and guide. he can reverse time, move planets and is immortal save versus kryptonite. he has perfect knowledge/mastery of krypton as a native kryptonian would and his ties to his birth father and people are overwhelming. he truly is the "last kryptonian" and will go to great lengths to confirm/revive the legacy of krypton

they're 2 different characters in almost every way. so such a degree that using the same actors would be been ODD. of course 2 very different types of actors (aside from being tall and dark haired). comparing is even more useless
