HT Improvement(s) on The Dark Knight – 12" Batman (TDK Version)

Thanks for the pics, vodoun. Is it as articulated as the Takara Batman, able to do so many poses? Does it stand on its own or does it need to be on the display stand?

Don't know, I don't have it yet. These are pic's I've been scouring for on different sites.

Looking back on the takara Begins i really dont like it as much anymore. The HT TDK version in that pic that has hte movie screenshot next to it....perfect, doesnt look bulky to me.

But hey man its your doller...1 more HT Batman for someone else : P

When I bought the Takara BB figure I thought it was the best Batman figure ever. However the new HT figure leaves it far behind. It's far more accurate and has at least the same level of foot articulation without the hideous Takara feet. The HT DK figure appears to have the same boots so I'd have no worries about articulation there.

HT have taken 1/6 figures to a new level with their new Batman line as far as I'm concerned.

Like I said in the BRJ thread, You can order/preorder it at Showpiece Collectibles, Urban Collector, Cornerstorecomics, Toys2, and BBTS or wait for DC Direct to import it here in the US this December to all specialty comic shop.You can also hit eBay or seach around the net for a seller near the source (Toy Hunters, Hot Toys' flagship store) to get it earlier then some of the stores I’ve mentioned, but there’s a big shipping cost behind it.

It is an incredible figure!... much more better looking in hands than some of the above pics (even if it isn't screen accurate... it is very close). Since I've just received it yesterday, I didn't test it all out yet, so I can't really fully review it. But, from what I've already got out of it so far, it is definitely worth every penny of the purchase. t:

Spidey, can you please list the inaccuracies? I sort of float back to the Takara Batman as my standard, if it doesn't meet that articulation-wise, and face accuracy (the only issue I have with its inaccuracy is the nape part of the Bat-head) then I get second thoughts in buying it.

Also, when we buy it now or even if we wait for the stores to get it come December, we are guaranteed to get the second improved Batman head, right? No chance that we erroneously get the first head, right?

WOW, Statue Toys' prices are the best I've seen. Even buying direct from the Hot Toys store in Hong Kong, the price is only $5-6 dollars less! Shipping seems reasonable for USA. I really wish with mass productions, the prices can come down but that's probably not going to happen. In Hong Kong they are suppose to release this figure this month!

I went to place my pre-order on the Iron-man Mark I and asked about the Head Sculpt. All of them are with the new head sculpt. All pre-orders from July or early will get them this month. Some of my friends already got the call to pickup! Mine should be this week. The rest of the pre-orders will come in Dec. along with the DC Direct shipments!

The figure will be the same as the overseas release. The only difference, IMO, probably will be a small text located at the back of the slide-on box stating that DC Direct is importing and distributing it… that’s it.

As for your other question, In terms of the articulation, I haven’t tried every single pose, but from what I have achieved, this figure is very versatile. The Batman cowl’s head sculpt is very, very, very close to the actual 1:1 scale counterpart. The only issue I have is that it isn’t wide enough and the nasal area doesn’t rise up a bit from the mouth area like the real cowl has it. However, overall, it is an impressive figure and Hot Toys really capture TDK costume Batman as it is in the movie.

There are already some incredible pics of the variety of poses that this figure can achieve. Also, Hello Beautiful has already posted some outstanding pics as well. However, I'll post some up next week once I get back my camera from my little brother.

As for your other question, the height is 12 inch and is a little taller than the HT Joker.
