What about Tim Burton as TDKR director?
 
I don't think it would be impossible for it to work in live action, but I agree that doing it as an animated feature would be easier to pull off.
Oh, I'm not saying it's impossible, just that it wouldn't look right, IMO. I dunno, I think a live-action version would be more of a disservice then anything. And it has nothing to do with the directors, I think it all stems from finding an old guy who is as big as Batman in the novel. And whoever said Sly Stallone, I would have to disagree immensely. Really, Stallone as Batman? Yikes!:wow::barf:
 
Stallone doesn't like Batman movies. Or at least the fact that Batman wears fake muscles. I read him saying that once. That Batman was the opposite of what he thinks the true "action hero" is.

I actually agree with him, Batman is something else.
 
For those of you wishing to see zack snyder direct TDKR, just pick up the book and flip the pages really fast in front of your face. That is pretty much it.


I have to give you props for that one.
