I realise this might not be the best place to come for this, but I trust you guys more.

So about an hour ago my HTC Desire decided to delete all my texts. Now, I had some reasonably important stuff on some of those texts and they're just gone. I checked all my settings and I've not got it set to delete them automatically or anything so they're just gone.

So is this a wide problem that others have had and is there a way to get my texts back?

Unfortunately it is an issue with the Desire. When it has too many texts or memory taken by texts, it has a tendency to reboot and delete all texts. There is no way to recover them. The best thing I can recommend is to use a SMS backup tool to protect you if/when it happens next time.

Handcent has a built in one:

Or a backup tool that copies it to your Gmail:

Or a straight up Backup and Restore app:

Same thing happened to me with my HTC Evo Shift.
