Is there anyway to find out what exactly glitched to cause this?

Uh, before we start assigning alterior motives to the Administration (or anyone else) I think it would be wise to wait until an technical investigation is made on your account Twy.

I say this because it could very well be a system glitch--we all know the site suffers from it from time to time. For example, a couple of weeks ago I couldn't load any of my avatars here. And my PM box at Xverse (another Vbulletin site) says I have 2 unread messages, but it's false. So let's take the mature route, turn your case into the admins so they can check it out, and be patient.

The last time a "glitch" occured to me, Elijya thought it was really damned coincidental to be a "glitch".
