Hulk concept art

Looks like a reworked verzion of Ultimate destruction hulk....

It seems like I have seen that before

Holeeey s--t.

Looks like the Savage Hulk with dark psychological undertones.

I'm loving this! Looks so much less cartoony than Ang Lee's Shrek.

More monstrous than the previous movie. Cool. Coooooool. :ww::gl::ww:

I like it. He looks a lot creepier than Ang Lee's Hulk.

If this is what the Hulk is going to look like then we can only hope for a speaking roll and then he will be right on target, IMO.

Holy McJesus, that's all I ever wanted from Leterrier on Hulk's appearance in a single photo. It looks like they took the physique of Deodato's Hulk and rendered it with the capacities of Ultimate Destruction. You can really tell that, while he has passive tones, this is definitely a Hulk that channels the Frankenstein monster that Lee alluded to in the original. If this is what the real thing looks like, I'm impressed.

Now where the heck is my HD version?

Oh please merciful god, let the final product look like that bad boy!!! :wow:

That sh1t is scary....... Im lovin it!!!!!

Can someone help me tap into the mindset that this is a concept worth raving over? Not trying to be a jerk, but the guy just looks a little thuggish, like someone you'd see in a tavern circa 1850 - only he's green. Somewhat mean, but not categorically "scary"... hardly the semblance I would expect for "the world's most primal force of fury." Again, not trying to be a jerk, but the picture just doesn't excite me much. Is there something about the "feel" of the picture that I'm missing (but should tap into when I look upon it)? If no, then I'll gladly pass on this until the next concept comes out.

I know it's just a concept sketch, but thank you god. Exactly what I was hoping for. An amalgam of Deodato Hulk, Ultimate Destruction Hulk and looking more like a real "monster" less like a giant green baby.

The previous Hulk only looked ferocious when he was in the midst of growing or when he was really showing some anger. Otherwise, he seemed a bit too soft around the edges. While I liked that approach, the entire point of the Hulk is that he looks the way Peter David described him in the last film's novelization- like humanity rolling back to reveal the brutish nature we cast aside back in the times of the Neanderthal. The Hulk is supposed to be the curse Banner lives with, not just a bigger and greener version of him. The previous Hulk looked like he could be identified with through appearance alone. This new incarnation gives the impression that the original one did- he looks like the monster that the Army portrays him to be, which makes it believeable that Banner hasn't really been able to befriend anyone or lead a normal life. The physique, at least from what's visible, looks perma-tensed. The last Hulk looked sort of relaxed and passive. This one looks ready for action and genuinely capable of anger.

That may not mean much to you, but I think they've done a nice alternative look for the reasons I've stated even with my continued fandom of the first Hulk's design.

Take a look at this:

Yep, now do you get it?

Even without comparing it. What's NOT exciting about it? He pretty much looks exactly how the Hulk is supposed to: A big, mean, green... guy. If you aren't excited about it, then you obviously aren't excited about the Hulk in general.

Just what I was looking for... all of it, thank you. Did you copy/quote the bolded part? If not, great memory. Interesting to me also that you were a fan of the first Hulk design (from the first movie, correct?), yet could so eloquently explain your reasons for liking the new concept. I can see more now what maybe I should feel when looking at this concept. Gonna have to see it in action to put the nail in the coffin, so to speak, however.

I think he just means about the changes to the Hulk's face. Hence the concept comment- not about the Hulk, but about the new render of his face. I could be wrong, though.

Please see my post above. I'm well aware of your sentiments - and those of anyone else who shares yours - about the first Hulk, as shown in the picture you still-framed, but I had other problems with the first Hulk and his look wasn't on the top of my list. As I said, the new concept just sort of looks like a mean guy you'd expect to find down at the 'ole tavern, although pretty strong based what's shown of his neck. But it's his persona anyway - not necessarily his look - that I couldn't quite connect with, until ChibiKiriyama's response to my first post. To me, he just looks sort of ordinary... but you have to understand this is coming from someone who's not too familiar with the comics. Otherwise, I'm very excited about the movie, if not the Hulk in general, as you say.

Ah, I guess I can understand that then. I disagree, but I understand.

I have a 12-inch Hulk figure on my fireplace mantle and I'm going for an "old world" feel in my home, if that tells you anything about my interest in the Hulk. In my office at work, I have an Incredible Hulk collector's clock still in the package on the second shelf of a bookcase and a framed holographic picture of the Hulk on the wall. Trust me, I WANT to be excited; it's just a little hard sometimes.

Here's my question: if this is what the Hulk looks like, what does the Abomination look like?

I won't be able to sleep tonight with all these creepy visions of gamma radiated creatures in my head.
