HULK VS WOLVERINE and HULK VS THOR (no joke)

I was very tempted to buy this yesterday. It's only fifteen bucks, but I haven't been impressed with past superhero animated films. And from what I hear, the Thor segment is underwhelming.

At the same time though, I watched a trailer and it looked pretty awesome.

Maybe I should just try and rent?

I just watched hulk vs wolverine.

I like the level of violence, it was acceptable, they just needed to tighten up the story a lil bit more, it didn't seem to go anywhere

sabretooth got punked though. there really wasnt any need for the hulk to be there, he got tagged along, i would have preferred the feature to be a wolverine vs story instead.

good premise, loved deadpool, i just wished he was fighting a bit more.

i hope the thor one has a better story even though thor gets his ass kicked

Stan Lee says who, that's who. He created Thor to be the most powerful hero in the M.U. But all these writers with bias in favour of Hulk just write him as an indestructible, can beat anyone he wants machine. It's getting really tiresome. And to be honest, I don't even see the big deal about Hulk, i've never found him that interesting. Ohh weedy lab scientist turns into angry giant when he loses his temper! WOW!! That's so interesting.

I agree. I must say this is the best discussion I've seen on here in a while.
I felt the Hulk "jumped the shark" in the 80's. I think Marvel has a misconception about he and Spiderman being their book ends, when it's pretty apparent Wolverine has taken that place with kids. The Iron Man movie dominated The Hulk one, which basically did the same amount of business each time. I think Hulk has his place in M.U. but I think of him more as a hero/villain, much like Namor, which is why I always loved Hulk in the context of the Defenders.

Stan Lee also said Hulk could beat Superman easily.

right on brother! thor owns the only knock out and the only kill that happened in the "reigning" arc. all done without the thorforce and it's all in continuity.
Or, I could also have you read Hulk: The End in which Hulk outlives all the heroes, and is technically canon. I'm not a Hulk apologist, but Marvel canon places him above 99% of the mainstream Marvel heroes. I mean even as far back as the 1970s he punched time, as in, ya'know, time itself. Silver Surfer and most cosmics could probably will him into nonexistence, but as for heroes like Thor, Hulk could very well beat them. His strength is limitless and technically he is a force of nature: that being rage.

Well then Thor must be able to beat Superman even easier! :D

Seriously, I don't mind Hulk. But I don't see him as the best in the M.U. Not atall. There is much more interesting characters out there, why don't the writers treat them with the same blatant bias as they show Hulk?

Yet another example of blatent bias towards him. My question is, why? Why does Hulk get this special treatment? I'm sure if the writers showed him with some actual weaknesses and show him lose sometimes he will become more popular and more interesting.

He didn't, Superman kicked his ass (as he should have -- Superman is still one of the most powerful in comics), I was just pointing out how much of a overblown cheerleader Stan Lee is.

Stan Lee did. Peter David did. Wein did. If you're going to hold these writers and creators as the standard, then they created Hulk as the most powerful of the heroes. He never tires, he constantly gets stronger, and only a handful of cosmics like Black Bolt and Silver Surfer have a consistent track record against them. Thor doesn't. Hell, Hulk has even managed to lift his Hammer (albeit he kind of found a way around the spell by lifting the road underneath the Hammer then throwing it away).

According to you, but those writers obviously treat him with blatant bias because they like him. Hulk is very strong and has beaten Thor in the past, proven too much for even the Avengers, and this was long before WWH. Hell he beat Thor with an admantium statue and put cracks in it with his fingers.

Well where did this quote from Stan Lee about Thor being the most powerful hero in the M.U come from? Has someone been lying to me!?!?!

he said something about hulk being the most powerful human but thor's a god for god's sake...he made him to be teh most powerful entity.

saying that he made spiderman cool and look what happened.

personally stan's opinion means jack these days. It's all Woulda/Coulda/Shoulda...

Stan Lee probably was, it really doesn't matter whether he said it or he didn't. Stan Lee said Spider-Man was his favorite, then he said DareDevil was his favorite because he was the "most original" (even though Doctor Midnight predates him), then he's said the X-Men were his favorite (even though he ditched writing the book quicker than many others), has said Thing was his favorite, and Silver Surfer (who he wouldn't allow anyone else to write initially). Stan Lee basically takes credit for everyone else. He'll say Thor is the most powerful, even though his incarnation was relatively weak compared to future versions...he couldn't even lift 100 tons and Hulk could do that sleeping. He'll say Hulk is the strongest one ever, even though his got beaten by a snake. He'll say X-Men was about racism, even though that theme was adopted after he left the book. He's funny like that.

Hmm yea fair point. I'm just looking forward to the day when Hulk get's his ass handed to him. My favourite memory of him from the comics is when he got impaled by a lamp post.

Hulk got whooped in Exiles. Well, it was a parallel universe Hulk, but hey, still Hulk.

Ok, I haven't kept up with recent comics. Who's Rulk?

I wouldn't say Hulk should beat Thor every time, or that he is the most powerful necessarily, just that he can potentially beat anyone out there. So the movie isn't wrong per say in it's depiction of the two because there have been Hulk(s) that can beat Thor, just as there have been Thor(s) that can beat Hulk.

Yea but Hulk didn't just beat Thor, he pissed all over him. At least make it an even battle.

Yeah, Thor got his bippy spanked. I'm as big a Hulk fan as you'll find around here, and even I thought it was a little one-sided.

I bought this on Tuesday. I have to say I was really impressed with both segments. Probably the second best of the Marvel Animated dvds (First being Doctor Strange).

Hulk Vs Wolverine was pretty intense. I didn't expect it to so bloody and over the top. It was pretty damn cool though seeing Wolverine hack limps left and right. I hope, but doubt, that he'll be as violent in the Wolverine movie. The story was actually kind of lame, and it was incredibly short. Overall, I liked it.

Hulk Vs Thor was awesome. It was definitely very cool to see Asgard and all the other Norse mythology. I really liked Loki in the story, too. The story I thought was better than the Wolverine story. Overall, it made me very excited to see what they can do with a Thor movie.

Hulk Vs Wolverine- 7/10
Hulk Vs Thor- 8/10
Hulk Vs- 9/10

I've only watched the Wolverine one so far, and a couple things bugged me. First, what was up with Wolvy's healing factor? I mean it seemed instantaneous. When the Hulk had him down and repeatedly punched him it would have been cool to see him get really bloodied/pulped, but aside from a little trickle of blood from the mouth, he seemed fine and got right back up. Also, how did those tranquilizer darts pierce Hulk's hide???

Well to be fair this Thor was much more of a pacifist when it came to the Hulk, and it's not like he was that badly hurt by the Hulk, he just lost, and did seem hesitant to use his powers against him.
