After a night of nine funky performances, one contestant has to go. You dig?

THIS... IS HYPE! IDOL!

"Disco" was the name of last night's game, and our Idol-wannabes boogied their way through the challenge of bringing some of the Disco era's most beloved classics to life again.

But who's going to be eliminated tonight? It's all in your hands, folks.

We'll find out after our break.

We're back. Are you ready to find out who's not going to be our Hype! Idol?

ObakeTora, you sang George Benson’s Give Me the Night.

Spoons thought it was “amazing“.
Bella said that “we have a winner“.
Erz said you gave “the best showing this week“..

The Results:
The Hype! Has voted and they want to see you back again next week.

Shlee, you sang Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive.

Spoons thought “you needed to sound a little more passionate“.
Bella thinks “you did a GREAT job“.
Erz said that "you set the standard".

The Results:
The voters seemed to think you were passionate enough - see you next week.

Cmill216, you sang Bee Jee's You Should be Dancing.

Spoons said it was a "good job".
Bella said she “like[d] it".
Erz said thought it was “very nice".

The Results:
The Community liked it as well. Welcome to next week.

Star, you sang ABBA's Dancing Queen.

Spoons thought it was a “really good job".
Bella said it was a “great effort".
Erz thought you “put more effort into [it]".

The Results:
Unfortunately, voters must not have thought you put enough effort into it because you are in the bottom three.

Merk, you sang Lipps Inc.'s Funky Town.

Spoons thought “you shouldn‘t have done the Chipmunks version".
Bella said “you took [her] to Funky Town".
Erz "felt you could have done this a little bit better".

The Results:
The Hype! Agrees with… the fellas. You‘re in the bottom three this week.

Monster, you sang Mick Jackson’s's Blame it on the Boogie.

Spoons “liked it“.
Bella thought it was a “good representation of what Disco’s about.”
Erz said it "felt a little flat".

The Results:
You‘ll be back next week to try and make the Hype! boogie again.

JP, you sang Hues Corporation’s Rock the Boat.

Spoons said it was an “awesome performance".
Bella “hopes to see you back here next week".
Erz said you “did an extremely well edition“".

The Results:
Bella‘s hopes came true - you are not in the bottom three.

Well, there's two of you left. And one spot in the bottom three left. Who will it be?

Majik1387, you sang Earth, Wind & Fire's Boogie Wonderland.

Spoons said "nice work".
Bella said she "enjoyed listening… quite a bit“.
Erz thought it was a “pretty outstanding performance".

Knowsbleed, you sang Jamiroquai's Alright.

Spoons said that it "was your type of song".
Bella thought “you were grooving‘".
Erz said was “not sure how you will do in next week‘s competition".

The Results:
Oh, did I say “bottom three“? Well, a three-way tie tends to change things - you‘re both in the bottom four this week.

The Bottom Four: Star, Merk, Majik1387 and knowsbleed.

What a twist, eh?

I guess I'll be a nice guy and let two of you go to be with those lucky cats moving onto next week. Three will continue on next week. Two of those three are:

knowsbleed

and

Majik1387.

Is it Star? Is it Merk? Who will be eliminated? You'll know, after this commercial.

And we're back! Hype! Idol is heating up with this suspenseful bottom two.

Star, Merk? Being friends, I must imagine it's got to be difficult knowing that one of you will be leaving this week.

Or, maybe not. Who needs friendship when you could be the Hype! Idol? Exactly!

Alrighty, let's get down to it.

The person who received the least amount votes during the second week of Hype! Idol and who will be leaving the competition forever is...

Merk.

Judges, how do you feel about Merk's elimination?

Colossal Spoons: "WTF"
DBella: "You weren't really feeling the Disco beat, were you? As I commented on your performance before, I sounds like you're not really feeling it and I think the audience noticed that too. Sorry to see you go though because I still believe that you have the potential to get better. "
Erzengel: "Well Merk, you did your best but your journey ends here along with Disco. :csad:"

Merk, will you grace us for the last time with a farewell performance?

Merk's Goodbye

That's it for this week! Come back in about, oh, seven days to see what our eight contestants have in store. Let's just hope they don't get stage fright.

Hey, I said Merk "took me to Funky Town... almost".

Well that's surprising, Merk is the last person I thought would go, people like him too much.:o

There was a M. Night Shyamalan twist!

Good run Merk.

Who do you think should have gone instead of him?
I'm refraining from giving my criticisms while I'm in the contest. People on here take things to heart too much then retort with an argument with a "Well you're [insert jab]!"

But lets just say, one of the people I felt should have gone were in the bottom 3(4).

I love it when you punish me. :o:up:
And I love it that you love it when I punish you. :o

Very diplomatic answer.

Honestly, although I feel that Merk's performance wasn't convincing, I thought he's good enough to return next week.
