Hype Survivor Hype Survivor 29: Spy vs Spy - Day 19: End Game!

Congratulations KAL. I figured you and CC would one day rise up from our ranks and use the power of the Matrix to light.... wait...wrong speech. I always knew you guys would win eventually. I didn't really follow this Survivor, but if you played half as hard as you played in the one you were with me, then I know you were deserving of this win.

SF. What can I say, always a bridesmaid never a bride. 2 runner ups is almost like kissing your cousin. I mean sure, she's hot but it's not as good as with someone who you aren't related with.

My advice to you is to take a Survivor or 2 off and hone your skills. I knew after you pm'd me about going into the Final 3 with Kal and POWder, and then after you chose Kal, you were done. Were you are too paranoid to trust anyone else with your destiny? Also, others knew you were throwing challenges towards the end. The trick is to look like you tried and not be so obvious.

But congrats on making it to the Finals twice. Very few people can say they have.

Don't forget my 3rd place in my very first full game ;)

If only my move on move on Daisy would have worked! :argh:

Actually, I only tanked the final 4 challenge, LOL! I tanked no other ones. That shooter challenge I legit sucked at :csad:

I'm taking a couple Survivors off. I agree it is best for me to do so. I have no idea if my return is summer or fall of next year, but expect me to play in one of those games next year :cwink:

Yeah, like I said before I don't think I want to play again and retire my keyboard so I will probably never get that ever elusive win. Although your theme does make it tempting, I would like to play in an Erz hosted game if I were ever to come back.
I think my hosting is regulated to one guest hosted round. :o

The need to play and compete is gone.

I'm not online that much during the night or weekends anymore and I don't think I'd be fair to players if I half assed a game for the sake of hosting one.

It's like having Deniro and Pacino in a movie together and it not being Godfather 2 but Righteous Kill. Great billing, but crappy product.

I appreciate it though.

The good thing or not depending on how you look at it, is eventually all the good players eventually win one. I reckon you and POWder will eventually win one.

I hope so in my case, lol. I'm hoping my time off not playing will help me get better as a player. Hosting and then coming back helped me a lot in this game. I went from barely missing jury in a game to coming in 2nd. I hope my next return gets me back here, and that 3rd times the charm :yay:

I do think Powder will win one eventually. He says he is retired now, but in my dealing, I know how competitive he is. He'll be back, and he'll get over the hump :cwink:

Also, I added the next three games a few days ago and tonight I added two of the next three banners (someone else added the third). I put all the banners that I could find on a couple months ago. I got up to Glamorama. Go take a look. Its a cool walk down memory lane.

Wow, Spider-Fan is really going to stretch his hosting muscles.

It's going to be really fun for me to do this, but also difficult :csad:

I had claim to Survivor 31 already, which is going to be the game I was originally going to run. I had it half plotted out already before chase and I decided to do I'm a Marvel, and I'm a DC instead, which I'm glad we did. But, Oscar Night is a game over a year in the making! It'll be awesome.

But, I am very excited about what JewHob and I have in store for Survivor 30. It is going to be truly unique, and I am honored JewHob courted me for co-hosting

Eh, I was gonna go it solo but decided I needed someone to take the brunt of the player wrath... so I asked SF along.

Sorry guys, my internet crashed... fun times. My vote was gonna go towards Spider-Fan... but I guess thats all moot.

Anyways, what's up?

The final award I am going to give out for now (Hunter will be awarding the rest later) is a reflection of....well....I'm not really sure what this one represents. This player has been a Hype Survivor legend. And while googling trophies for the other awards I found this one and couldn't resist. :woot:

So the next winner is

TEDDY!!!!

Oh yeah, acceptance speech time!

*Ah-Hem!*

TEDDY would like to thank Me, Myself, and I: TEDDY couldn't have done this without you!

I would like to thank Matt for keeping hope alive!

I would Not like to thank the little children of the world: you kids are loud, whinny, snotty vomit-machines that smell like piss. CHANGE YOUR PANTS!!!

TEDDY would like to thank TACO BELL, KFC, BOJANGLES, BURGER KING's breakfast menu, PAPA JOHNS, CAPTAIN D's and their competitors, LONG JOHN SILVER, and SUBWAYS for being delicious fast food!

I would like to thank the makers of JOOSE and FOUR LOKO for making the perfect drink to go with said fast food!

While I'm at it, I would not like to thank TACO BELL, KFC, BOJANGLES, BURGER KING's breakfast menu, PAPA JOHNS, CAPTAIN D's and their competitors, LONG JOHN SILVER, or SUBWAYS: it's a diet destoryer! Yes, even SUBWAYS: Jared is selling you a $5 foot long full of lies!

I would now like to doubley thank the makers of JOOSE and FOUR LOKO: alchohol and caffine, together in one can? Caffine to give you energy; The alchohol dulls the senses, making excercise much less of a pain... you know what? This is a better energy drink than Gatorade! Lets see your electrolytes do this!

Last but not least, I'd like to thank the people of the Hype! Love me or hate me, you guys should know by now that TEDDY is here to stay. I have won every Survivor I've played in(you're welcome, America) and I will continue playing until I "officially" win one of these things... after which time I intend to play and continue winning just to spite you haters!

So yeah, that's all I got. Can't wait to be made a MOD in October(about time!)

Alright, Matty-Boy: Play me off!

Congratz to Kal for being a worthy winner and congratz to spider fan for being an honorable runner up.

Thank you to Matt and Hunter Rider for organising a fun game and my apologies to all for my numerous absences that wend beyond my expectations.

All the best!

I've told myself a couple times I was going to walk away, and I always comeback...only when I opted to host was I able to commit to not playing :csad:

You'll be back someday ;)

Don't be so sure, my time on the Hype is coming near to an end as well. I'm like Murtaugh, I am getting too old for this. ;)

Wow! Well I would like to say a few things. Bare with me, because I don't have the gift of words as SF does.

First I want to thank our hosts, Matt and Hunter Rider, for putting this game together and allowing me to play. This game was full of ups and downs and you guys took a little criticism here and there, but you handled it all with class and professionalism.

Next I want to say thanks to Spider-Fan. Your game play was near perfect and even though you didn’t follow through with some of your agreements with the other players, you always stayed true to our alliance. You had the perfect opportunity to take Powder to the finals and betray me, but you didn’t and I thank you. We have been allies in several Survivors and I count this as a win for the both of us. You will win one and I hope to be there to help.

I have to say thanks to my Black Spies Alliance. Marx, Powder, IF, and Pat, you guys were a huge factor in this for me. You guys never wavered and we stuck together through the end. I wish we could have gotten you all further in the game. I hope that we get another chance to play again together so I can repay you for all your help. I consider you each my friend in and outside of the game.

In the end, I am glad this game is finally over. I am going to really enjoy the break and plan to play in JH and SF’s next Survivor. I hope to see a lot of you play as well.

Kal

Congrats Kal, you are a class act and helluva a guy.

POWdER, I applaud you for apologizing to SF. I said yesterday, that you're not quite in SF's league yet as far as champions in the making go (you'll get there though), but you certainly showed with that display that you are one of the classiest players.

Also, I apologize for bringing up your run in with judges, you are correct that you have gotten much better about that. I simply meant to use it as an example of how emotionally invested you become in these games. No disrespect was intended.

It is one of things I have tried to improve in myself, although I might curse a judge quietly to myself, I like to think I am more composed about that then before. Especially about my 5/10 from Corp. :p

That's a shame, but I understand your reasons.

Oh yeah, for those waiting for their avatar I will finish some up tonight and send them off.

Eh, I was gonna go it solo but decided I needed someone to take the brunt of the player wrath... so I asked SF along.

I'm good at that!

I appreciate it TEDDY :)

LOL! It's okay, hate fades :word:

Oh, and while JewHob and I are getting work done on the next game, I'm also going to be getting some early work done on Oscar Night at the same time. I have a few jobs that are going to need filled.

So, if in Spring 2011, if you have any interest in any of the following jobs (I'll explain them if you PM me), please PM me. I have some people in mind for a few of these jobs, but I'd be willing to consider you if you PM me:

Oscar Committee Member
Photoshop Assistant

I have a co-host hired already, but I'd like to have a back-up co-host in case something happens (always good to be prepared for the worst). So, if you'd be interested in taking on that mantle in a pinch, PM me.

My co-host for that game as of now is Nirvana. I chose him because he has expressed interest to me in learning the hosting process and he is an Oscar nut like me, so I picked him!

I would also consider a guest hosting spot for someone, but you'd have to tell me what challenge you'd be hosting and it would somehow have to fit the theme.

I know it is early for most to think about these things, but if there is one thing I think people should learn about me as a host is that I am organized and like to be prepared FAR in advance!

since ive helped you numerous times on these..

hire me Spider fan, Ill be your Photoshop Assistant. :woot:

LOL! You're actually the person I had in mind for the job :woot:

You're hired!

I look forward to my first task of co-hosting. Granted, I'm happy it's so far away from now, plenty of time for preparations. So far, some ideas are complete genius.

That said, congrats on the win, Kal. You totally earned it.

I'm glad we do too, lol! I love being over prepared! :oldrazz:

We've got some AWESOME stuffed lined up! :woot:

I think you'll love your first go at hosting, but I will say...be prepared to eventually have your will tested. It is inevitable, no matter how perfect we think all the challenges will go.

Are the committee members essentially judges?

I'll gladly give Kane a good reference.

I look forward to seeing what you do Nirv.

Are the committee members essentially judges?

Yes. I'm doing it a bit differently that game. In Marvel/DC, I found getting new judges every challenge to be tasking at times, and it delayed results. Oscar Night will feature an Oscar Committee that will act as a constant panel of judges, who will rotate challenge to challenge. That way, if 1 is taking too long, I can just go to another person in the committee rather than do a frantic search.

I expect hatred for me to increase. :(
