It's no problem at all man. We may have had differences as of late, but fighting doesn't change my opinions on people. You're one of the best active players, and I'm sure you'll win a game eventually. You're too good not to. I think Matt is right that maybe you should take some time off, though. But, I'm selfish and want you to play next game! :cmad::

Yeah, like I said before I don't think I want to play again and retire my keyboard so I will probably never get that ever elusive win. Although your theme does make it tempting, I would like to play in an Erz hosted game if I were ever to come back.

Next up is an award that was basically Matt's choice, the award for the thinkiest thinker!

I am honored to have received this award! I'd like to thank the hosts for considering me for this great honor, and I would like to thank all the Survivor players both past and present who have influenced my play in this game and helped make my strategies come to fruition!

I am proud of my performance in this game, and the recognition of my efforts does make me feel good about my performance in the game, especially considering the harsh words I have gotten in this thread.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen. I have a more in depth speech planned for the results, but I wanted to do one for this :)

I've told myself a couple times I was going to walk away, and I always comeback...only when I opted to host was I able to commit to not playing :csad:

You'll be back someday ;)

Also, since we have some banner posting on games to be played in the future, I would like to add this that Kane has so awesomely put together for me (and I appreciate it immensley).

Coming Spring 2011, the game that almost happened instead of SHH! Survivor: I'm a Marvel, and I'm a DC!

Ok, it's time to announce the winner of Hype Survivor 29: Spy vs Spy!

It's been a long game with ups and downs and in the last few rounds more bickering and drama than a trailer park weddiing, but now we crown the new champion!

Congratulations to KALEL114! Seriously man, you're a great player and I am happy you got a win :)

You're a class guy and have done so much for me over the course of my Survivor play, so if I was to lose at final 2 to someone, I am glad it was you. Your faith in me over our games together is something I was always amazed by, and I was sad that in past games you seemed to take more heat for my actions and I wished I could have repayed you more, and I am glad I had the chance to repay you in this game.

I hold absolutely no bitterness to any player in this game for not voting for me. I'm not even mad I lost, LOL! I came in 2nd place, and I am proud of my performance in this game. I wish I had got the win, of course, but I plan to comeback and finish the job ;)

For now, I am taking time off from playing to host. I love hosting and I want to stay involved with you guys while I am not playing. I love Survivor, which is why I keep coming back. I plan to return at some point next year. Time off has helped many players, so hopefully it does me some good also.

I would like to thank all the players who helped me make finals. Without you guys, I am not here right now. I'd also like to thank Kane for all the challenge help he provided me. I'd also like to thank the hosts for running a fun game! Seriously, I had tons of fun this game, and I am glad I was around long enough to enjoy all the challenges! I gave an A+ effort in these challenges in part thanks to you guys :)

I am honored so many people consider me among the "best of the rest." You guys have no idea how awesome that makes me feel. Hopefully I get out of this category and net myself that elusive win, but for now, I'll take that title with pride :)

Once again Kal, congrats man! I'm the happiest person outside of you right now, and though you won the game, I am glad I picked you for finals and GLADLY would have done so anyway knowing the result.

Wow! Well I would like to say a few things. Bare with me, because I don't have the gift of words as SF does.

First I want to thank our hosts, Matt and Hunter Rider, for putting this game together and allowing me to play. This game was full of ups and downs and you guys took a little criticism here and there, but you handled it all with class and professionalism.

Next I want to say thanks to Spider-Fan. Your game play was near perfect and even though you didn’t follow through with some of your agreements with the other players, you always stayed true to our alliance. You had the perfect opportunity to take Powder to the finals and betray me, but you didn’t and I thank you. We have been allies in several Survivors and I count this as a win for the both of us. You will win one and I hope to be there to help.

I have to say thanks to my Black Spies Alliance. Marx, Powder, IF, and Pat, you guys were a huge factor in this for me. You guys never wavered and we stuck together through the end. I wish we could have gotten you all further in the game. I hope that we get another chance to play again together so I can repay you for all your help. I consider you each my friend in and outside of the game.

In the end, I am glad this game is finally over. I am going to really enjoy the break and plan to play in JH and SF’s next Survivor. I hope to see a lot of you play as well.

Kal

You may not have my gift with words, but you did a great job at making me feel good :)

I knew I made the right decision when you PM'ed me after my decision was posted and said you're glad you stuck with me despite everyone telling you I would eventually burn you. That made me feel really good about my decision. I definitely count this as a victory for you, lol...but I count picking you as a victory for myself (since I was able to stay true to our long standing alliance)

Congratulations Kal! I am so happy for you! I definitely think the original 'Black Spies' alliance is one for the record books. For four of us to make it to the jury, and for you to pick up the win is incredible man! :yay:

Spider-Fan: I honestly do not hold any grudges against you outside of this game. As I said previously, I've gotten to know you a little bit beyond Hype Survivor and I believe that you are a very genuine, good guy. (I just cannot support your 'screw everybody' strategy in the game. :cwink: )

I consider both of you friends on the boards and look forward to interacting with you around the boards.

I appreciate you saying that man, and I'm glad the game is not effecting your opinion of me :)

We had a lot of good chats on AIM and such, and I don't like seeing things like that change over what is just a game to me, so I appreciate hearing you say it

Now... my thoughts on dirty game.... SUCK IT UP!!!!

Listen, we just finished the 29th game of Survivor and for 29 games people have played dirty. It's an internet game and SOULY an internet game... and without prizes at that! It's not a question of integrity or even friendship, it's just a game. Dirty play is a genuine strategy on the level as any other. If it isn't for you then so be it, but don't go belittling a person for playing dirty. He didn't kill your mom or rape your cat... he just played strategy. In the end, when the game is said and done, that's all it was and it won't matter... so why take it personally?

I mean, lord. Last game I had a final 4 alliance with Matt, Powder, and CC and it was a sure bet. But due to a misunderstanding Matt and CC turned on us and got us eliminated . I through a few hissyfits but I never took it personally and the majority of the hissyfits were my own strategy to try and throw Matt off his game (and obviously it failed ;)). If we end up in another game I'd be happy to ally with him or CC again.

So yeah, dirty pool is just a long standing tradition of Survivor and you should go into every game expecting to see it pop up somewhere. If you can't handle it, then don't play. If you can, then play and have fun, build alliances, build rivals, and just go to town destroying each other.

But overall... just have fun man. If it's not fun then it isn't worth it.

thanks, JH, i'd ally with you again too. i don't remember how that misunderstanding started last game but it ended up being a crazy mess. as for the hissyfits being to throw Matt off, I don't think they affected him as much as they do me. I felt terrible and always feel terrible when the numbers get smaller and people you're close with or have worked with have to go. i'm too nice for this game I think cuz I genuinely feel bad when people go or i have to vote for people when i don't want. but i still am addicted lol

NYS and Bamfer. Unfortunately, it is one of the aspects that didn't quite work out. Between that, and reward challenges, and a few other things, we tried a lot of new stuff this game. Some worked, some didn't. Still, it was a fun experience to try.

Congrats Kal

Well said. And thank you for the kind words. I still maintain, you and I would've worked better as a final two deal as opposed to final four and I look forward to the day that we can do that. :)

None-the-less, my win would not have been possible without you. Prior to our alliance I would've likely gotten POWdER voted out on our next loss (as Kal knowing about my alliance with Knows, tipped me to his alliance with POWdER), which would've resulted in you, CC, Kane, and I going into the merge and you teaming with Wats and Kal to oust me. Luckily, your cooler head prevailed and brought us together which allowed me to set up conditions for a win. For that, I'm grateful and in case I never said it, thank you.

Haha, that's the truth. I thought a few times after that vote out, that you were going to resign from the game. I'm glad you didn't though, we made a good team.

Yes Congrats to me, the Winner! :woot:

Anyhoo, my thoughts on this game, as I promised:

First of all, congratulations to Kal. He is a worthy champion and played a hell of game. I bow to him.

I was privied to having inside knowledge on both Kal and SF's strategies. Both were actually really impressive.

I'll start with SF. You were brilliant, bro. You ran the game through and through. Your biggest flaw however, was one that I made many times, you didn't account for the emotional aspect of strategy. I warned you, back during your game, when you were plotting this out that Marx and POWdER may be bad choices for a big alliance due to their emotional nature. Unfortunately, I was right. :( It was the one flaw in an otherwise perfect plan. Last game, following the merge, my major allies (aside from CC who I knew would be in the final two with me) became Knowsbleed, NYS, and Kane. All of whom are not overly emotional or prone to taking things personally. I believe I even recommended NYS to you between games. I think if you tied yourself to someone like that, you'd be the winner right now. That said, damn. The way you ran this game is so f'n impressive. The silence throughout most of the game is evidence to that. You put down any potential threat to you and yours before they could become one. You were the puppet master throughout and you executed perfectly. Well done.

Kal on the otherhand, played a much different game. Marx should make no mistake about it. Kal was just as devious as SF. Kal simply did it, the way you originally intended, SF. I remember when you were planning this game, you said you intended to use POWdER as a shield for your more deceitful moves. Kal basically did that with you. He was a member of your alliance, yet while you were plotting, he was pandering. Kal, you've played a social game that is right up there with Bella and CC as one of the best. However, I should not sell your strategic prowess short. One move in particular, was brilliant. I won't say what it was, unless you give me the go ahead, but it involved a PM and I think it is the reason that you won. That one move was brilliant and changed the tide of the game.

I said last night that is the best final two I've seen in a long time. I stand by it. You two make such a good team, you are the yin to the other's yang. You both play amazing games on different wave levels, that when combined in an alliance make for a perfect pairing. You should both be congratulated.

In regards to backstabbing, I said all I have to say yesterday. People who complain about it come off as hypocrits, IMO. A certain player who shall remain nameless, for example, spent the past couple weeks attacking SF at every turn. Yet he benefited more than anyone from SF's moves. It was only when they were turned on him, that he found a distaste for them. It was a sickening display of hypocrisy, IMO.

That said, Jewhob hit the nail on the head. It is part of the game. If you can't deal with it, you ought not be playing. A few of the personal attacks on SF went way over the line because as Jewhob said, this is an internet game with no prize or personal stake. People shouldn't take it personally. POWdER, I applaud you for apologizing to SF. I said yesterday, that you're not quite in SF's league yet as far as champions in the making go (you'll get there though), but you certainly showed with that display that you are one of the classiest players.

Also, I apologize for bringing up your run in with judges, you are correct that you have gotten much better about that. I simply meant to use it as an example of how emotionally invested you become in these games. No disrespect was intended.

Now, on my closing note, I would like to thank Hunter for everything. Without him, this game would have been mediocre and boring. Hunter was the most amazing partner in crime that I could've asked for. :)

I hope everyone had fun. I'll see you guys as a player next game and a host in HYPE SURVIVOR 3000 (coming Summer 2011). :)

Myself and Matt actually disagreed quite a bit when it came to the strategy aspect for the record. ;)

Congrats Kal

Exactly. It's nothing personal in the game. I mean, I have been screwed hardcore by a few people, but there is NO ONE I wouldn't ally with again. I mean, CC and I def have had bad moments in the game, but I'd be the first to openly say if we had an arrangement I felt would work for us, I'd ally with her again.

I loved this game, and I thank you for complimenting my game and I put TONS of effort and logged many hours to make this happen, and I am humbled that you say I'm the best player who has yet to win. Seriously, that is cool to hear from people like you
